I assume that it's because he's got some arrogant philosophical objection to 1st class but isn't that just a bullst reason? Surely he wants the workers in the place of the wealthy. That's his whole philosophy for nationalising the bloody trains - surely???
It would go on expenses, so it would be saving the taxpayer money? The Hypno-Toad said:
....despite claiming to represent the common man they REALLY don't like actually conversing with them.....
I think this is his (and his "team"s) biggest problem... they claim to represent the "working class" but they don't actually like what the working class say or think. Quite the conundrum for him.Nice analysis of the events from PR Week: http://www.prweek.com/article/1406708/traingate-co...

"You’ll get Corbyn supporters saying he was right, you’ll get anti-Corbyn people saying no he is wrong, but what Virgin Trains has done is create doubt – there is now not the historical fact that Corbyn was sitting on the floor becuase there weren’t enough seats," he said, adding that this had "destroyed the credibility" of any Corbyn, union or Labour attempt to use that incident as proof of a need to re-nationalise rail services.

Jeremy lied on his published self assessment
He only put down his Labour leaders salary
Missed off state pension
Missed off MPs pension
Missed off his civil servant pension.
Which turns his c£880k a year income into near £140k.

Are you sure about those figures...?
Corbyn - laughable, thick, bell end. That is all. It does raise an interesting question about all these reserved seats though. I recently got the Market Harborough to St Pancras 4 times off peak in the space of a week, in both directions, almost all the seats were reserved and empty and there was almost no one on the train...WTF?

It costs nothing to reserve a seat and you're encouraged to do so when you book online. I always do when I travel down to London for work, however I often don't take the train I'm reserved on as meetings sometimes end earlier or later than expected, so I take the next available train and look for an unbooked seat.Or sit on the floor and chat to passing film crews.

This is also the reason why he acted like he did today when someone dare suggest he is wrong.

If, when he was first asked the question, he had reacted and said that he wanted to clear the "misunderstanding" up, then that's one thing.
The fact that he made a big deal of it, labouring his point about the NHS, and then retreating, shows he is unable to think on his feet and think about how he comes over to the public.
In reality, he should have been briefed prior to the press conference and allowed the question patiently.
That brings me onto a second point - he was struggling to control his temper, you can see it in his eyes, internal rage. Again not a great trait to have.
The guy is a complete knob.....

I wouldn't describe myself as a seasoned rail user so take this with a slight pinch of salt but if I know this stuff, then surely the great wise commuters and regular users do??
Opinions are like belly buttons.......everyone has one, except read the press and 'independent' regular rail users will tell you at times it is so difficult to get a seat, if you are on the tube at times its impossible to get on at certain stations.Try traveling from Birmingham to London at around 16:30 - 18:30 I feel sorry for regular users (Daily travel) as they have an awful job getting a seat the carries are packed

So what's your proposal, specifically how will nationalisation fix the issue? Try traveling from Birmingham to London at around 16:30 - 18:30 I feel sorry for regular users (Daily travel) as they have an awful job getting a seat the carries are packed
After all, the private operators are clearly deterring high ticket price customers who will avoid peak runs.
The lines are running at full capacity.
The trains are as high capacity as possible.
What exactly will the rhetoric solve?

If you look at the photo evidence those seats were reserved, if they are not going to be used Virgin should take the tickets out, when I find someone sitting in a seat I have reserved I ask politely if they can move and some people can be real Arses with there responses.
Oh and Yes Corbyn could be being miss-judged the biased press may have something to do with that
I think you will find privatised rail isn't working either, there has to be another way and not one where 'profits' go to inflated CEO, Board and shareholder banks but to the users of the networks in terms of punctuality and availability of both trains and seats
As has been pointed out many times on this thread; Virgin have stated unambiguously that he walked past empty, unreserved seats prior to sitting on the floor.Oh and Yes Corbyn could be being miss-judged the biased press may have something to do with that

Someone is lying here and I doubt it is Virgin if they have released video evidence to back up their statement.

True, but it just goes to show the stupidity of the man when he chooses one of the few 'not-rammed' trains for his 'rammed-train' photo opportunity. Anything during morning or afternoon rush hour would have worked, but rather than take the easy option he boards a mid-morning train and has to get all creative with the truth.Try traveling from Birmingham to London at around 16:30 - 18:30 I feel sorry for regular users (Daily travel) as they have an awful job getting a seat the carries are packed

He is an exceptionally dangerous, unhinged, narcissistic lunatic who really needs to be kicked into touch sharpish. I genuinely fear for the safety and security of this country if he ever gets near power.
