Woman was sunbathing in Reims (France) and assaulted by a gang of women as they found her attire inappropriate.

Link may not be safe for work. There are lots of photos of French ladies wearing bikinis in support of the assaulted woman.

!
Three of those arrested were named as Ines Nouri, Zohra Karim and Hadoune Tadjouri, who are in their late teens and early 20s, while two others – aged 16 and 17 – cannot be named because they are minors.

Good old Christian names. rolleyes

In all honesty, when I first read the news I thought it would be a group of well-fed feminazis (after the uproar of 'bikini ready' a few months ago)

Not what the French press are now reporting. According to Liberation this is what happened:
As per usual, plenty or people are keen to draw conclusions to suit their own agenda without knowing any of the facts.

My French isn't what is was, but I'm reading that as a row between two groups of women, yes?

But I said that because I complexed, absolutely not for issues . I am religious or moral Muslim yes, but tolerant "She then denies any" lynching "." When one of the three girls heard me speak, she challenged me to tell me that "with my physical, she understood that I did not dare put me in a swimsuit. "She also said that I was fat. I went to her to give him a slap, and she fought with my friend. From there, I did everything to separate them. They fought only both before witnesses and a plainclothes police officer not interpose. "
Not a very good Google translation.

Seems what it boils down to was one girl saying to the other. Is you calling me fat? Are you disrepecting me family?

My French isn't what is was, but I'm reading that as a row between two groups of women, yes?
"Contacted by Buzzfeed France, one of the 5 accused, aged 19, said "I was with there friends and my little sister and we went to...the park. We passed by 3 girls in bikinis and I said to my friend that I would never be seen out like that. But I said it because I am self-conscious [about my body]and certainly not for any religious or moral reasons. I am Muslim, but I am tolerant. One of the girls called out to that with a body like mine she wasn't surprised that I wouldn't be seen in a bikini. She also called me fat. I went towards her to give her a slap and then she fought with my friend..."
So - slag 1 made ambivalent/rude comment;
Slag 2 responded with "Oi fatty"
Slag 2 and Slag 3 had a grapple.

Cheers - much as I thought. I now await the speedy apologies from those taken in by a distorted media report that successfully played to their own prejudices smile

That's a great example of tolerance right there. Her own words no less.

I thnk it's clear that she felt the need to explain that it wasn't her religious beliefs that caused her to get into this row. It doesn't stop her being a fighty, beligerant big-mouth of course. But if you're hoping to keep this in the realm of Islam-bashing, I'd say you were over reaching.

Why, I think the point has be proven.
If you're so bleeding tolerant of everything why insult a random girl? (who then insults back etc, etc)
