A full page article on a Porsche owner getting his car washed in London.
Apparently it blocked traffic, I can't see it myself.

And yet you fall for it hook line and sinker, by spamming it out back out onto other people via forums, social media or email or whatever. Exactly like they wanted.I just posted it because it appeared in my Facebook feed. I get what you are saying though.
If you hate an article the best thing you can do is completely ignore it. They will look at the stats of each article. Roughly they're going to be looking at :
- how many people clicked it directly from the Daily Mail homepage
- how many people wrote a comment directly under the article (on the DM site itself)
- how many people tweeted a link to it
- how many people shared it on Facebook
- how many people posted it on a forum or blog

'twould be a shame if the DM closed though. NP&E would lose half the traffic as it's the most oft quoted media outlet of them all. Bless the DM and all those who quote from her.
No chance of the DM closing!2014 saw pre tax profits increase by nearly £25 million.
This year has seen print revenues continue to be challenging but other sectors are still showing growth and increases in market share.
DMGT is a very well run company and is quick to diversify or to consolidate as required.

So, a paragon of marketing and industry then, with a talent for successful market penetration, giving millions what they want and bringing much needed revenue to HMRC! Wow, a pity more businesses in UK don't follow suit! I sometimes wonder what successes their detractors can claim in their own fields other than curmudgeon.
