Cilla Black found dead
Discussion
Whilst I am obviously very sorry when anyone famous dies, (unless it's the likes of Ian Huntley and Myra Hindley etc), I can't say I held any special affection for "Cilla" Black....
She was a damn fine singer in the early sixties, in fact I bought all her singles with my pocket money at the time, BUT, what I don't buy into is this "Our" Cilla from Liverpool guff......a national treasure....ffs!
As soon as she became famous she was away from Liverpool to the bright lights of London like a shot,( now't wrong with that), but what rankled with me was the way she continued to trade on the "Our kid from Merseyside, one of us" for years afterwards.
Apparently, as been mentioned already, she was a bit of a prima donna, forgetting her humble beginnings in the cloakroom of the "original" Cavern club.
So yes, I'm sorry she has died, a great shame for her three children too, but I'll get over it.

Only thing is Cilla was known by many many people in the world of ahowbiz and many had met her so they probably had every reason to #rushtogush for once!Gassing Station | News, Politics & Economics | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
