Sad to hear. Not a great fan of her more recent TV output but she is an important figure in the rise of British pop music in the 1960s

A bit of a miserable diva by all accounts. I won't be wailing on this one.

It's not hit the BBC yet. Lunch time bulletin and no mention... PH strikes again!

Seems it was announced a couple of hours ago, but no corroborating sources until just now.

How quick does Wikipedia get an update. I checked moments after it was announced at there was a full update.

By the way, how do I go about getting compo? She touched me up when I was child.

Indeed, Google cilla black and pprune and see what stewardesses thought of her, doesn't paint her in a favourable light.

Still, not for me to sit in judgement.

I think the BBC are waiting for Cilla's family to confirm the death.

Comparatively young these days. Though I know she'd said she didn't want to go past 75 if things were failing, she was struggling with hearing loss and arthritis. Can't deny her career. Still a shock really.

I expect that's the reason. She had long associations with British TV - both BBC and ITV - so they look on her as "one of their's" a bit.

Yes, the wife knows Max Clifford's now ex sister inlaw, she has met Cilla Black a few times on a personal level; she said she was a horrible person.
