I saw something earlier that said Russia were trying to claim it. Expect Poland to be annexed any day now
Well it won't be the first time they've done it. In fact if memory serves, last time they split it with their friendly Nazi mates.

Russian historians seem to have forgotton just how 'close' the two countries were before ze Germans decided that friendship should come to an end.

My friend who used to live there told me today he heard the polish army have been given the green light to start searching in the areas in question
Being reported as such in the media. Areas in question being cordoned off. Apparently, official Polish sources are stating that the two men who came forward with lawyers wanting 10% "finders fee" will get exactly that . Whether what is found becomes state property, or anything traceable back to individuals/institutions.
Why do they need to search for it when the two blokes have already found it?

It's all a load of tosh and will amount to very little. Possibly a rusted out couple of carriages that when found some old people who are not dead yet will suddenly remember they were there.
Don't ask awkward questions. wink

It's a great story and I'd love it to be true but it won't be.

We don't know for sure yet, after all they said the same as you about Richard III , on the other hand , there were those/not buried Spitfires.

Its certainly being taken seriously by Polish authorites , another report I saw claimed that they are closing the rail line by the location for all of September.

Didn't the buried spitfire story turn out to also be a load of ste?
The poor bloke spent his entire life and savings searching for them.

If there's anything there it may contain the remains of humans so that's why they are taking these precautions.

I think they're more concerned about booby traps or old dangerous chemicals than anything

+1

If there was anything there then someone would have taken a spade and got to it at some point within the last 50 years, rather than just draw a few maps and make up conspiracy stories about threatening phone calls etc.

The Polish authorities are taking it seriously because generally they are really quite incompetent, and have to at least make a big effort with things like this when the worlds media are watching. Personally I think they have gone too far already by allowing a senior culture ministry official to say on Friday that he was “more than 99% sure” an armoured railway carriage had been found with ground-penetrating radar images.

They are just going to look silly again.

Like others I would LOVE to be proved wrong, but I just think it's unlikely.

Has anyone actually seen this ground radar image?
Surely they would of shown the world if they had one, its not like it would of given away the location

So the two blokes found some coins in the area and say there could be a train buried somewhere...

Why not say they found coins there so maybe Diana was killed in Paris?

Utter, utter bks.

<cynic>

- Train "found", govt official confirms on basis of ground scan.
- Area sealed off.
- "Rogue" official rubbished - nothing to see here.
- Statement that digging cannot start until spring 2016.

...

- Spring 2016 - we've done nothing for the last 6 months but only just managed to investigate the area and there is nothing there

Edited to add

- Oh and on a completely unrelated note, we have a pile of fresh gold ingots and quite a lot of cut amber up for sale.

I posted previously but for those who missed it will again.

They won't find a train with any significant quantity of gold.

A lot of time wasting here, move on.
