Well it won't be the first time they've done it. In fact if memory serves, last time they split it with their friendly Nazi mates. Russian historians seem to have forgotton just how 'close' the two countries were before ze Germans decided that friendship should come to an end.

Apparently, official Polish sources are stating that the two men who came forward with lawyers wanting 10% "finders fee" will get exactly that . Whether what is found becomes state property, or anything traceable back to individuals/institutions. It's all a load of tosh and will amount to very little. Possibly a rusted out couple of carriages that when found some old people who are not dead yet will suddenly remember they were there.

Its certainly being taken seriously by Polish authorites , another report I saw claimed that they are closing the rail line by the location for all of September.

If there was anything there then someone would have taken a spade and got to it at some point within the last 50 years, rather than just draw a few maps and make up conspiracy stories about threatening phone calls etc.
The Polish authorities are taking it seriously because generally they are really quite incompetent, and have to at least make a big effort with things like this when the worlds media are watching. Personally I think they have gone too far already by allowing a senior culture ministry official to say on Friday that he was “more than 99% sure” an armoured railway carriage had been found with ground-penetrating radar images.
They are just going to look silly again.
Like others I would LOVE to be proved wrong, but I just think it's unlikely.
