Gun man overpowered on train
Discussion
Sorry if this is a repost, according to news I've seen 2 marines heard him loading the AK47 in the toilet and managed to subdue him but not before he had injured them and another passenger, that could have been dreadful.

I think we will see lots more people challenging idiots and not taking chances after recent world events.
We can "blame" the Glaswegians for that

Most worrying thing to me is how easily people are able to get their hands on machine guns in France, this is about the 4th attack I can think of in France where they were armed with an AK47
Top marks to those who restrained him though, I dread to think how long it would take armed response to get to the scene of an attack like this on a moving train

Whether it was incredible luck that the marines were on the train and then happened to be near him as he was loading the gun I don't know, but a busy train + nutter and fully loaded AK47 would have been carnage.
American Marines according to reports. I think more its likely they were intended target than coincidence. What are the chances of that. You plan a massacre and you're stopped by Team American.
I think this is entirely appropriate

gunman "known to intelligence services" after he opened fire, injuring three aboard on a high-speed train en route to Paris from Amsterdam.
Well he sure wasn't out collecting for the Red Cross. Those guys saved a lot of lives.
8 or so loaded ak magazines and at least one pistol magazine

Enough ammo to kill half the people on the train.gunman "known to intelligence services" after he opened fire, injuring three aboard on a high-speed train en route to Paris from Amsterdam.

According to the other news link passengers were jumping off the train as the outbreak occurred.
No doubt the gunman was shifty looking hence attracting the attention of the two marines, right place right time.
