Gun man overpowered on train
Discussion
Don't laugh - some special forces teams have been using "paint ball" guns for quite a number of years - although not in active shooter situations I admit!
Less lethal would not be an option in that situation so its all a bit odd but the tech has been out there a long time and has been used operationally.

Joking aside, a lot of the left continue to mock the idea that lone wolf attacks were credible...
Link please.I'm not really sure what it is about lone wolf attacks that they don't understand or accept, but they keep ploughing this ridiculous furrow.
FWIW the Guardian's argument that radicalisation is social and intractible is not wrong, but I still think they underestimate the resolve of certain 'self-starters'.

Wow.
Little or no benefit? Really?
Would you rather be slightly inconvenienced by a chap asking for a passport or other suitable ID or would you rather run the risk of being severely 'inconvenienced' by some nutbag with a gun?
Did this guy not have valid I'd? Little or no benefit? Really?

Could mainland Europe realistically control its internal borders at all?
Nope, they would have to check inside every artic, bus, car boot and van etc - just not practical without bringing Europe to a stand......unless each border post had about 100 border agency staff on each shift, but who's gonna pay for that up front, even though it would still probably be cheaper in the long term.Cobnapint said:

people keep going on about it would be doomsday to reinstate border controls, and whilst I am sure it's not trivial, it's most certainly do-able, every other country in the world manages it OK.
Look at the border between US and Canada or Mexico, they are policed yet trade still flourishes.

The mans defence Solicitor needs to have a word with herself.
He found the guns in the park.

Deja Vu, I think when you consider what happened at the trial of Lee Rigby's murderers. They were caught on camera and admitted to passers-by to the murder, still with weapons in hand and covered in blood. He found the guns in the park.
Righty-o luv.

For once 'Team America' didnt destroy Paris
And their defence counsel said to the jury, "I hope you'll find these men not guilty".

He used some odd hyperbole and his arguments were nonsensical, but he was not trying to claim that they didn't do it.

It's just an artifact of the adversarial legal system and overall I'd argue that it's a better system than the alternatives.

That's the defence's job. They would be struck off if they appeared for the defence and said "Although my client pleads innocent he's clearly guilty and if I were you I'd convict him."

He did indeed purchase a ticket. First Class at that. His purchased that day mobile was used to watch Islamist jihad videos moments before boarding. I guess his lawyer will now say, oh, he found the cash and phone in the bag too.
Interesting that so much detail is in the public domain already. Is this in the French press?Gassing Station | News, Politics & Economics | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
