Sometimes it's better to let people think you're a dick rather than confirm it.

We dont know that it's still too early, all we know it that he's 26, from Morocco and known to the security services

Still staggered at what these guys prevented, from a nut job/terrorists point of view a high speed train packed with people gives you as long as you need to carry out a huge killing spree on people trapped

So 2 American marines were walking past the toilet and happened to hear an AK47 being loaded , really ??
Yes. U.S. Marines are weapons-trained and would be familiar with the sound of small arms being loaded.

If we all had I.D. cards, things like this wouldn't happen.

8no standard AK47 mags = 240 rounds... the intervention by the two US marines is huge service today, whether or not there's more to this story yet to appear in the public realm. Bravo.

It's almost plausible, right?

I mean, we all know that familiar sound of a pump action shotgun from the movies, it's not impossible that trained soldiers would recognise the sound of an AK being loaded

It's a good cover story at least

Whatever the reason for them being there they saved the day, hope they all pull through as one is reported as badly injured.

Realistically, how do you stop this?

I'm glad I'm not in charge of sorting this terrorist mess out.

He was known to intelligence services and thought to be dangerous.

There are ways of dealing with this. Just depends whether you are willing to live in a country where the security services are empowered to do so. It's far from ideal.
