Police appeal after female cyclist pushed to ground by ped
Discussion
I have been shoved off my bike by a ped. I was in cleats though and went down a steep embankment and into a hedge about 5m meters down - cuts and bruises mainly - because the bike stopped me from tumbling over and over could easily have been broken bones.
I got free of the bike, scrambled back up, chased him down (god bless MTB SPDs - great traction) and had a few words interlaced with punches to his face.
Which is something I wasnt expecting to have to do on a saturday afternoon ride in my local town.

The most disgraceful thing is there are people on here justifying his actions.
The lot of you and the moron who pushed the lady are scum.
Agreed, pretty shocking. Probably the same type that would say 'she was asking for it' if he had sexually assaulted her. I'm no fan of cyclists but there is no justification for what he did.The lot of you and the moron who pushed the lady are scum.

Nobody is justifying the man's actions. Quote one person who's said that the cyclist deserved it.The lot of you and the moron who pushed the lady are scum.
It's a simple actions have consequences situation. Like if you accidentally nudge some angry bloke in a pub and he spills his pint. Chances are you'll get beat up. This isn't fair and the bloke is 100% wrong but it's obvious that if you watched where you were hoing more carefully and didn't walk into him it wouldn't have happened. I accept that in some situations, angry man will punch you no matter what, you cant mitigate yourself against everything.
Some of us are constantly aware (paranoid maybe) of how our actions might affect others. Other people just don't thnk like that at all (which is fine).

Except that in this case she didn't start it, so it's more like angry bloke spills your pint and you don't act humble and meek enough.otolith said:
