I know it's a mundane question to ask in an otherwise quite serious thread, but from first principles can someone explain what this post is and what it contains might mean? It's gibberish formatted in an odd way to my non-Twitter, non-Facebook educated eyes!
It's reverse chronological (most recent at top). So if you read it from the bottom upwards and accept that it was probably typed on a mobile (hence short statements) it makes more sense.glazbagun said:

Thanks, by the way.

rumours he has killed himself on a net feed a few minutes ago...
eta that first person video is truly shocking and I take back what I wrote earlier, I don't think he was having a crisis of conscience I think he was waiting for the right moment...poor poor people.
Having seen it, I agree. He realises the TV camera is panned away, and waits until it is back on the reporter before shooting. eta that first person video is truly shocking and I take back what I wrote earlier, I don't think he was having a crisis of conscience I think he was waiting for the right moment...poor poor people.

Am I reading this right, he had a gun in one hand and his phone in the other filming?
Yes.Am I reading this right, he had a gun in one hand and his phone in the other filming?
The twitter stuff earlier basically says Adam went to HR about me and that she is racist yet they still hired her. Seems like his justification.

I've seen that, and something looks fishy. The female reporter manages to scream, turn around and run away after seemingly being shot at pretty much point blank range in the chest, and continues to run whilst he shoots her again and again.
Unless you're shot in the heart or brain, you're not gonna drop instantly.I think the camera makes him seem closer than he is by a few feet. Also, shooting a pistol is surprisingly hard. It wouldn't be massively unlikely to miss at a distance of 3 metres, especially if he was using his good hand to operate the camera. Throw in some shaking due to nerves and you've got a terrible aim.
Awful thing to see. Disgruntled public with guns.

From a news report
report said:
He was hired at the station in the spring of 2012 after working at stations in San Francisco and in Florida, North Carolina, Texas and Georgia. WDBJ let him go in February 2013.
In May 2014, Flanagan filed suit against the station in Roanoke General District Court, seeking money he felt he was owed and additional damages. His suit alleged discrimination by the station and named most of the WDBJ staff in his complaint, but in July 2014, the case was dismissed by a judge.

Mate don't be a dick.It takes a few seconds to die - during which time I suspect you'd run in the other direction.

I do wonder if merely having access to guns is the issue as I simply struggle working out what makes people do this kind of thing.
Make handguns legal in the UK and do you think we'd see this kind of thing?
They were legal in the UK and I don't think this kind of thing happened very often then? Make handguns legal in the UK and do you think we'd see this kind of thing?

Just dreadful... such a waste.
I'm not sure releasing the footage of these deaths will serve any purpose - other than to cause pain to the friends and family of those who died.
Tend to agree. You get used to flicking to the Daily Mail and seeing some poor bd being shoved off a roof or whatever ISIS have done that day, but I didn't quite expect to open it today and be looking at real life fking Quake I'm not sure releasing the footage of these deaths will serve any purpose - other than to cause pain to the friends and family of those who died.
