I'd rather not comment any more. Sorry Eric, if you're expecting the inside track wink

Ah well. I'll just have to keep believing his success is due to his intellect.

He had 60 million and he didn't save any children with it?
Seems odd doesn't it.

But you do forget, he gives his TIME! that's worth more than his money, apparently.

I suspect even without that they would be one of the richest musicians given that since 2000 alone they have done 4 massive world tours and played around 460 shows.

I think when they did the Vertigo tour it was estimated they were making £1m every show.

I thought Dr Dre was a billionaire, after he sold his headphones company to Apple?

Apolgies for the Mirror link, I just heard this on the radio and this seems to be the only place reporting it at present.
Possibly because it's exactly the same story everyone was reporting 3 years ago when Facebook stock launched on Nasdaq? Remember how we all laughed when he 'lost' $350million in the first few days? Well, I didn't laugh, I'm just jealous smile

Don't mind admitting I'm jealous! I'd be chuffed if I'd put £600 in, and I wouldn't be bleating on about global warming and Africa at every opportunity.

I wonder who buys U2 records? I've never met anyone who likes them.
I quite like U2.

I'm not such a fan of Bono and his position in the media, but I happily listen to his music.

I'm no big fan of U2 but certainly enjoy plenty of their songs.

As for him putting near on all his wealth into a risky Facebook following the massive market collapse in 2009 he certainly has big balls.

I'm not concerned one way or the other if he does or doesn't give his £ to charity just the same as anyone else - it is a personal choice and from what I see those who hardly mention charity actually pay in a lot towards it over some others who shout loudly about it.

Good for him - I'm sure he will certainly give something to charity

I do (or did, haven't bought one for a while.) I'm also a bit confused as to why there is so much negativity to them on PH. Decent musicians, some great songs, why all the hate?

Is it hate or just dislike as opposed to like, based in individual taste?

Success is generally applauded on PH where it's the fruit of effort and skill and considered risk taking so Bono doing well personally can't be bad. Well done him.

Once you have more than a few million any more is completely irrelevant. You can only eat so much etc.

Your health is the most important thing.

He has extremely poor eyesight....(affected by light)

I wouldn't swap him.
