Presumably you would be able to tell the difference between being exposed to pathogenic levels of salmonella vs not being exposed to it?
Only by becoming ill as a result. Is this unusual? By the way I don't think there's any evidence for any kind of illness caused by non-ionising radiation, I was merely pointing out that an inability to detect a pathogen does not mean it doesn't exist, I could quite easily be exposed to fatal doses of gamma without noticing (until, of course, it was too late.)

The difference being of course, that you don't go to your Dr everytime you get a headache and blame the Gamma radiation (that you have no evidence for).

This story was on "theregister" last week, and if memory serves correctly, she was getting benefit for this as a mental illness(*1) rather than a physical one.

There have been lots of studies showing that people who claim to be able to "feel" wifi/wireless signals are no better than just random guesses, so I tend to take all of these stories with a pinch of salt. I suggest that it's more likely that there are other factors at play which are causing problems (*2).

(*1) i.e. the mental impact is real, regardless of whether she is actually suffering physical effects from the wifi/wireless signals.

(*2) The power supply on my cable modem occasionally emits a very high frequency whistle. This seems to correlate with the data lights flashing. In effect, I can 'hear' increases in data traffic when other people in the house are using the internet. I, of course put this down to shoddy sub-spec components, rather than assuming that the wi-fi RADIATION(!!!) is slowly cooking me.
