The "Calais Migrant Madness" thread

Hi all,
As you may have noticed this long running discussion thread had to be removed because of the actions of one or two people with extreme views. We're sure the vast majority of you will agree that this is a great shame as for the most part it contained a balanced debate about a very real crisis. In this case we (PistonHeads) must hold our hands up as we were not quick enough in our reaction to the offensive posters - as such removing it was the only option to avoid further offence being caused.
In the end it took the actions of one understandably upset user to make us appreciate the issue fully, and as such we're genuinely thankful for that person's efforts.
The very first rule of posting on PH is "Do not post material that a reasonable person would find offensive, annoying or upsetting" - clearly this was breached and we're both sorry for any offence that it caused and committed to dealing with such things more effectively in future.
Please remember PH is a community as as such we rely on all members to always report anything you find offensive - your report will always be taken seriously and we'll look to further develop our rules of posting to further clarify what sort of community PH is, and what we won't accept.
Ultimately PH is a fun, friendly and diverse place and we're committed to protecting that
