I have no problem with the man's plan - don't get me wrong. But I'm also sure that it's not a simple no-strings gift.
That wasn't intended to be a judgement on him although it may have sounded as if it was. I have no problem with the man earning a few quid and all the better if it helps and contributes to a community or population.

Maybe he's a philanthropist. Maybe he just wants his place in history.
Maybe this time pick somewhere someone else doesn't already think they own.
A country for displaced peoples might be a great thing, though you'd need somewhere bigger than an island and it would need natural resources.
