Interesting that she's already ditched Keele (substantial demotion) and added a rider about erotic approaches.

One comment includes "I'm not interested in the male perspective on this."

Nice to see they come to a discussion with an open mind.

Well if they are only interested in the female perspective - I showed my wife this story last night and her reaction was "WTF - how ridiculous - silly bh!" biggrin

Same as my Mrs when I asked her why she felt the need to wear makeup biggrin

Whilst I think she massively over reacted to the message and it was a bit nasty to release a private message for all and sundry to see - the witch hunt she is now enduring is going too far.

I guess that's the problem putting yourself in the media spotlight - you have to ride the wave, wherever it takes you.
She tried to throw that bloke under the bus, to have him torn to pieces in public by the ultra-feminist dogs and now the crowd wants blood and she is next to the gallows - all her own doing. She could have quietly and discreetly dealt with this, but an execution is what she wanted.

The majority of girls I've spoken to usr makeup because it gives them a bit of a confidence boost-its an internal thing, you know sometimes not everything women do about attractiveness etc is for the benefit of men.
There been studies which show that what women most hope for when they make themselves look pretty is compliments from other women.
Please provide links supporting this statement, as it stands it sounds like "A bloke down the pub told me." smile
Most "studies" which purport to explain what people want are generally flawed unless they take into account the difference between expressed and revealed preference.

If you ask someone a question they are going to be concious of giving the "right" answer that conforms to their own prejudices or that conforms to what they think the question asker is looking for.

Saying "I wear make-up to attract men" in today's society has numerous negative connotations, I'd be surprised if many women would admit to that even to themselves. In fact I suspect most women will not be keeping tabs of how much make-up they wear and in what situations.

The only valid way of working it out would be to put a sample of women in a number of situations and observe them without them knowing why and see if proximity of males and availability correlate with amount of make-up worn.

The opposite experiment is actually very easy, you put pictures of the same women wearing different levels of make-up into popular dating apps. The revealed preference is that men actually like a lot of make-up, only once you look like a clown/drag queen does it start being negative.

One last unscientific observation is to look at the revealed preference when men and women start trying to pull members of the same sex. Stereotypically the men try to become prettier, better groomed and buff the women go the other way.......
Yep, you see it all the time.
Take for example when a large supermarket opens on the outskirts of a village.
The voxpop is a lot of people saying how it'll destroy the high street, and they always do their best to support their local shops.
2 months later, the shops all shut.
If you believed what people said, they'd all be throwing money of the local butchers, but in reality, they go to the Sainsburys where everything is cheaper and they do all their shopping at once.

Dog owners are the same, they always pick up after their dog, but somehow dogst still litters the streets.

What people say in a survey isn't always what happens in real life.

I don't think so. She could have dealt with this matter privately but she tried to make it a cause célèbre. That train left the station when she went public, now that the media is revealing the unflattering truth about her, she has to ride it out. She wanted to use the media as a stick to beat the bloke with, but now she must too endure it's truth.

Perhaps that's how some women think they have to get-on in a male dominated society?

I've noticed women are particularly tough on female politicians. Probably one of the reasons they don't gain high office very often.

They do it in many areas where it gives them no such advantage.

Perhaps women are just as flawed creatures as men?

Of course - because women treating other women like st still has to be men's fault in some form or another.
