Just read some comments sections.

Someone pointed out, as no bomb squad (or whatever they call them in the US) was called...
just suppose if it had been a real bomb?

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!

Poor kid. Massive overreaction.

Giggle time
His cousin has told the press that she is organising a protest at Irving schools, by encouraging all students to bring 'clocks' into school in a show of solidarity.

I hope he doesn't hold a grudge. I do wonder what group of unsavoury characters has noted this and may ask him for his services as he gets older.

Reminds me a bit of 'easy money'. hehe

The US where they want people to take guns to school but freak out about a brown kid having a clock.

Bloody hell. If you want to radicalise youth that is how you achieve it. Treat them as terrorists before they have done a single thing wrong.

Well if he is a terrorist then he's bossed it, have they not seen Homeland?

A bit (but not a lot) more back story here.

I particularly noticed that his father "immigrated from Sudan and occasionally returns there to run for president" and "Mohamed is familiar with anti-Islamic politics. He once made national headlines for debating a Florida pastor who burned a Quran."

Looking into the father's background a bit, Mohamed "leads a small congregation of Sufi Muslims, a mystical sect of Islam."

He does seem to be a fairly moderate Muslim, but I'm guessing the family is under a bit closer scrutiny than just a "brown guy with a clock."

Better safe than sorry.

What would you guys do if you found a kids pencil box with a digital clock on it, and wires hanging out?

Me, I would probably break the 4 minute mile before calling plod.

One point. Nobody found the clock. The kid showed it to the teacher. Bloody mad world, getter madder. By the tick-tock minute.
A clock with no clock, strange world. I was going by the picture which showed a digital clock, but hope you get my drift.

What's that supposed to be? Doesn't look like anything really! Let alone a clock or a bomb.

TBF though, looking at this picture, you remember for a while people got that website that just displayed a digital red countdown on a black screen as a joke to do on your laptop on a plane.

People seeing ta suitcase with a 'timer' in it ESPECIALLY IN AMERICA could get a bit twitchy.

However the engineering teacher having a quiet word maybe with the principal and Ahmed might have been an idea.

Though arresting him was beyond stupid. Poor lad. Hope he goes to see POTUS before its trump!
