He should have reversed and if he's incapable of doing so he should have his licence revoked.
Yet to make life easier for every single person in the video including herself she could have also got out of the way. He's incapable but she's just an ahole.
I wouldn't be surprised if she couldn't reverse, either.

How do you know I she had the right of way, anyway. The guys a bit of a dodderer it seems, I'd not be surprised if he entered the tunnel doing about 15 mph with a clear road ahead of him, gets near the whole way through and impatient stuff up bh fails to wait till he clears the tunnel and clocks his exit.

IF it was a case of one driving very slowly and one driving a bit quickly, who would your money be on for each?

She could have done but he should have done.

If he really is incapable of reversing his car in a straight line though he's a total fking menace and removal of his licence should be a much higher priority than berating her. Continuing to drive a car when you're not able to do so is also the action of an ahole.

This is the Google Streetview location.

If you have a look around you'll find that she has priority.

He was well past the give way line, so it's not that clear cut. I'm not sure he's fit to drive if he can't reverse from where he was mind. Equally I'm not sure the same does not apply to her...

for a start the priority signs are reversed - it would be a better fit other way around..... in fact maybe this needs lights as there is no clear line of sight. The gent would have been round the corner and into the tunnel when she arrived... she has priority of oncoming trafffic - not of traffic already there.....

Worrying that you are struggling with the notion of what I posted, tbh.

What is he meant to do if he arrived at his side of the tunnel and it was clear with no one waiting.........he is allowed to proceed. If she then appears perhaps going much faster and he is already in the tunnel, she has to wait for him.

Who knows what happened, but it is clear that he is a lot further through the tunnel than she is, and is hardly some boy racer. So I suspect he got to his give way line some time before she got to her priority sign.

Regardless, guy was struggling and was some old boy. Maybe he shouldn't be on the roads, but he is, she should show him a bit of respect.
He appears to be the only one to make ANY effort to sort the situation and is struggling. She is an ignorant , ignoring the people asking her nicely to reverse, what, 5 metres.
We can all see that.

It's not great having to share the roads with either of them, but I'd rather some old git be bumbling about that a stuck up bh like that that blocks the road for 45 minutes and ignores everyone asking her to move.

Given the number of times I meet people on single track roads (there are a lot of them around here) who can't reverse 10 yards backwards without hitting a hedge, there aren't going to be many people left on the road with a licence!

Twice I've reversed cars for other people who were incapable, and a few times I've been brusquely refused when I offered (always blokes, they take it as an insult) so I have to sit and watch them back away bouncing between the two hedges like a slow pinball.

I always reverse where I can, as it is nearly always quicker for me to back-up 100yds or so to a gateway than to wait for some tourist who is only used to roads with lane 12 feet wide to mange to find reverse in their gearbox.

FWIW I agree entirely... looks to me like he was already 2/3rds of the way through (probably going slowly also) so she should have stopped.

I'm not "struggling" thanks. You're being quite condescending if you don't mind me saying so. Perhaps you could have a think about the tone of your posting.

All this is supposition. All we know for sure is that the traffic coming from her side has priority.

In my eyes one earns respect by ones actions, it shouldn't just be afforded automatically either because he's a man or because he's old.

If he's incapable of driving his car, as it appears from his abysmal attempt at reversing when he heads straight for the tunnel wall then he ought to have the constitution to give up his licence.

We can all see that.
Both of them appear to be in a similar situation, apart from the fact that she has the priority. Why you describe her as a "" but defer to him as an "old boy" is not clear to me, unless maybe you have a dislike of women in general.

We'll have to disagree on this point. Of the two of them he's the only one of which we have any evidence of incompetence. I'd prefer to share the roads with competent drivers regardless of whether I like them personally.

There's no concept of "right of way" in British traffic law. A right of way implies you can just barge through and fk everybody, which you cannot.

That's assuming she didn't just anchor up when he failed to stop at the give way, after which he drove up to her.

I'm guessing he had absolutely no idea what the issue was.

She needs a better attitude, and he needs a bus pass.

I'm going to stick with my suspicion that she couldn't reverse either. It's a common theme with school run vehicles where I live.

I suspect neither of them can drive for toffee and neither of them wanted to reverse as they would have crashed.......

I live near there and use it every day, there is a clear line of sight. There's been no need for lights for 30 years+ and no need now. Buses manage no problem. If people slow down on the give way line and look it all works fine. If people chance their arm or do not bother to look (or can't see properly because their eyesight's gone) you get an issue. Simple.

Point taken,,,, I did once own a Hillman Imp with no reverse - Mrs A was not happy opening door and pushing backwards with legs.
