I think Erdogan is the favourite out of the two however, there are Kurds and then there are Kurds.

A little info should anyone be interested;

There are two main Kurdish parties: pro west (democrats, they participate in elections, they want autonomous region and cooperate with North Iraq ) and leftists( out of law, pro Russia, PKK included). They want Kurdistan; the west did not give it.
They have independent cells. I consider that there are cells not agreeing to lasting peace with Turkey -PKK.
There were fights between Kurds even in Syria. (Youth democrat Kurds) fighting the others.

It's a shame; the Kurds strike me as one of the better bets for founding a truly secular state in the middle east, but even they are unable to agree to keep disagreement on the level of philosophical and political debate rather than employing violence.
