Top Gear producer to sue Clarkson

Who cares? Someone who can't rustle up a rare sirloin got hand bagged by a man who drinks rose wine and bases his humour on casual racism which looks bad on paper but no one can seriously believe the man is a racist.
Frankly if I got a stiff arm for being a bit useless I'd ask for an apology and then crack on.
Regardless I don't believe a word of the thing and think it was all contrived to get Clarkson into a more lucrative contract. If he'd walked out on the BBC for more money the sh*t he would have taken would have been impossible and Gear Knobs or whatever it is to be called would have been watched by a lot less peeps
I'm not one for conspiracy theories but I'd always got the impression that there was something just not quite right with this whole situation.Frankly if I got a stiff arm for being a bit useless I'd ask for an apology and then crack on.

Don't get me wrong; I do think that the incident took place. I just think that it's been used to best advantage fo all concerned.
Your theory above may not be too wide of the mark. Clarkson only very recently sold the whole Top Gear brand name for a very large amount of cash. Perhaps there were clauses in that deal that would have made it very difficult for him to leave so soon after the sale given that his 'face' is basically what sells the show. If, however, he's told NOT to come back because he's a bit of a thug then that may circumvent those clauses.
Just thinking aloud really and I probably don't know what I'm on about.

Top Gear wasn't exactly The Black and White Minstrel Show
The whole Slope thing was concocted between the Daily Mirror, a rival paper to the tabloid Clarkson writes for which has it in for him for an obvious reason, and one two bit actress who complained because she thought she could personally sue the BBC, probably because she had some other grudge against it. http://www.mirror.co.uk/tv/tv-news/jeremy-clarkson...
Everybody else ran with it and turned it into a sensation because it's fashionable to hate Jeremy Clarkson. He might be blunt and aim to shock the easily offended rather than being warm and fuzzy and all over charity television shows, but he's probably the only man over 50 who's worked for the BBC who hasn't been a sex pest and a kiddy fiddler. You can bet the likes of the Daily Mirror have been desperate to pin that on him.
Slope is a derogatory term for someone of black African origin. It suggests the person has a sloping brow like a monkey. Even if you wanted to be racist, you wouldn't use it to refer to someone of more Far Eastern origin.
As for the Mexican thing, how often are we subjected to American television shows where we're made fun of for apparently all being eccentrics with bad teeth? The Simpsons makes far worse stereotypes of people from different countries in nearly every episode.
People like to take things at face value as the media reports it. Don't be sucked in by anything that's nothing more than selling papers and people using underhand tactics to make themselves money.

He's sueing because he is greedy, pure and simple, otherwise he would be asking for a public apology
, why when he suffered an injury should he not sue?being called Irish?
long and short of it is this, the BBC at the time said they would find him another job within the BBC, clearly that has not panned out for whatever reason (nobody else wanted him?), so now he's suing all and sundry.

I hate litigation, but if I got shouted at in front of colleagues, called a c*nt, and punched in the mouth so hard I ended up seeking medical attention, an action which brought a huge show to an end, causing me and many others to have to find another job just because some bore didn't like his din-dins - I'd probably sue too.
So you wouldn't seek prosecution for assault, you'd just go for the compensation? What would you do if someone with no assets ttted you?The Crack Fox said:

So what would YOU do if your boss called you a , punched you in the mouth, and swore at you in front of colleagues? Laugh it off?
depends what I had done to be in the frame for it in the first place...not suggesting getting punched is at all appropriate, but general, people don't throw punches for no reason
My main thinking as to what to do would depend if I still wanted a job.

If someone hit me at work, I'd hit them back.
What happens if they're twice your size, they're the CEO and you're owed £10,000 in bonuses which you'd lose if you were sacked for any reason?sc0tt said:
I'm 6"4
Doubtful
Isn't everybody? Doubtful
The point i was trying to make was sometimes it's not possible to wreak vengeance on your boss, either because they're bigger than you or you have too much to lose financially. That's partly the reason the Courts are there...
If only we had the feudal system, and droit de signeur.....

From the above I'd wager not, in the real world if that happened you'd not react at all instead you would do everything by the book internally.
To be fair IF anyone punched another member of staff In the real world they are gone simple as that and rightly so. Calling someone a c&£t and screaming at them - depends on why and type of company. I've worked in companies where literally no one swears while others where profanity is used throughout the ranks - personally I don't and never have used any profanity in the office but I don't hold it against anyone who does where relevant (if some knob jocky came up to me and called me a regardless of rank I'd voice my distaste at such gutter language and would expect more from said person.
