If Clarkson punched me in the face I would knock him out not go crying to my mummy. Tymon should grow a pair and be a man unless of course he bats for the other side. Thank fk I was born in the 60's and bought up by non-liberal straight forward people. Boo-hoo, the unfit 53 year old man punched me. Get a life you n***e.

Shouldn't he be suing the BBC for breach of duty to provide competent employees since they fired clarkson for it didn't they?

Like to see how much he gets compared to some poor dude physically injured in a biscuit factory for instance.

Great to let off a bit of steam after a hard day being racist, assaulting and abusing people. JC

Irish is a race now confused shouldn't it be nationality discrimination?
I was wondering that. He might have more of a discrimination case if he'd been called a Mick or a Paddy. All he was called was Irish, which he is. The lazy part and the c**t part aren't necessarily linked to be being Irish.

I imagine his case is something like this:

He worked on Topgear for ten years. Without the incident Clarkson and co. would have done three more years (series) so he would could have reasonably expected to also had that amount of work. The incident happens, Clarkson admits fault no new contract is signed then Evans bring in his own team so he ends up out of work.

Some very odd comments here. If you were assaulted at work, you'd just shrug and get on with it? I can't see the reasoning behind not proceeding as he has done.

No, any self respecting person would hit him back, probably shake hands and have a pint together later not wet my pants and try to get some easy cash. 37 year old acting like a 17 year old. Clarkson is an arse but at least he's old school not a mummy's boy...

He is being a Man, and sorting it appropriately if your a thug or just feel everything can be sorted with your fists go ahead and see where that gets you.....Dont mistake intelligence as weakness having worked with a couple of special forces guys I found them to be the most calming influences when things were getting heated. Whats being brought up in the 60's got to do with anything other than your age?

I think it means you can't be a man if you're gay, or something like that confused

I think it is the context of the workplace. If I was a boxer or rugby player no I wouldn't complain about being hit at work. If I was a florist or gynaecologist I think I would.

Personally I would expect producing top gear to be more like the former than the latter (although I suppose you could argue that it might be like gynaecology if you're working with tw@ts all day). No hitting someone is not acceptable but some credence should be given to context. Regardless sueing is for pussies

Whilst I struggle with the "racial" element of this, Clarkson has only himself to blame.

It's really pretty simple - don't hit people and call them names because you're tired and you want your steak din dins whilst pretending to be a "man of the people".

It's laughable how people are still making excuses for him, the producer should man up, he should have expected it because he was producing Top Gear etc.

Priceless smile

I think that 'TV producer' is one of the jobs where you'd be surprised to be thumped in the course of your job. How is it anything like being a boxer or professional rugby player? laugh

Clarkson is definitely to blame. Be interesting to know if Tymon was the Producer tasked with booking hotels and meals and continually fking it up.

Being hit at any workplace is a bit harsh. It's completely stupid in today's society.
There is no place for it.

The sueing culture is even worse. I don't condone what Clarkson did, we don't know the events which triggered it or the actual conversation/emotions which took place but as far as I would be concerned the matter was over and already dealt with.

Maybe Paddy needs a few quid.

You sound like a great bloke to be around. Thank f**k I was born in the 80's so I don't need to put up with ignorant people like you who call people gay and n***e's because they don't knock people out in an argument.

As many have said its nothing to do with the punch.

Its topics like this that really grate....

I cant give any sympathy to Clarkson - dont get me wrong I enjoy his programs and I enjoy TG but what he did well it wasnt great - and then were telling the producer to man up ad all that - folks really ?

Its a work place its bound by the same rules and regulations that govern any work place - Its suddenly hit home that he won be earning anywhere the same money as before. so hes doing what he can to get some redress. Id be doing the same thing. Id not be turning the other cheek or letting it go.

Look. This concept/viewpoint is so far removed from where I sit I am staggered. But perhaps this is the way of things these days. I'd suggest Oison needs a bloody good hiding....
I think the bit you don't understand isn't the punch. It's that it's being dealt by a showbiz god with power over your entire livelihood.

If my boss smacked me, then it would suck but I could probably find an equivalent paying job. Entertainment is, well, f**king awful by comparison. With that in mind, do you really think you could hit back?
