Woman given card from "Overweight haters"

How do you really think this woman felt for the rest of the day or week....? For doing what, sitting on the tube minding her own business. It' a fking disgraceful situation, and one that in no way at all should be defended by anyone.
She probably felt really bad, upset and ashamed. In fact she felt so bad and upset she then went to Facebook to tell all her friends and then spoke to a national newspaper about it. bhstewie said:

What should she have done?Is this what they call fat shaming in the US? People shouldn't shame other people, it's one of the shameful things about western culture, people who shame other should take a look at eastern culture and be ashamed of themselves - That's irony.

If you really all think what you've posted on this thread is ok, go and read your posts out aloud to your circle of female friends, colleagues and family members and see what they think of you.
the sensitive fatties lacking personal responsibility would be upset, so what? FredClogs said:

What should she have done? But equally fair play to her for having the courage to stand up and say something rather than being an anonymous ahole handing out a card and then legging it, or being an anonymous coward on the internet picking holes in people.
I suspect half the people on here wouldn't have the courage to post up a picture of themselves as they're likely spineless when not behind the comfort blanket of a keyboard.

Being built up might not be as good for your life expectancy as being a skinny endurance athlete but it's still a damn sight better than being a lardball and frankly I don't want to be a skinny jogger/cyclist etc.
There is some evidence that the accepted "healthy" BMI range may not actually be optimal anyway - large meta-analysis showed that mortality rates were higher than "normal" (18.5-25) for BMI of over 35. 30-35 was the same as "normal", 25-30 was less than "normal". http://www.nhs.uk/news/2013/01January/Pages/Overwe...

huh? even if we believe her story and that it wasn't aimed at eliciting some tea and sympathy (and maybe some cake nom nom nom) 'courage' to post on facebook and speak to the daily mail? to claim not to be fat? to say it doesn't matter anyway?BrabusMog said:
He said that was a joke, and he put a smiley above the post to show it was sarcastic.
What that guy did by giving her the card was wrong, there's no doubt about it. But you can't say with a straight face that people can only then share an opinion on her appearance if it is a positive one. You seem to be really angry about all of this.

I am just dismayed that there seem to be some supposed "men" that are happy to slag off a perfectly normal woman who has been wronged by what can only be described as a weasel of a "man". By sharing his opinion of her, ie by calling her fat, you're helping this prick justify his actions.

Well I just weighed myself, I'm currently 85.7kg. I would have calculated that in my head as around just over 13 stone, but it says on Google that it is just under 13 and a half stone (13.49).
If I was to look at myself in the mirror at the moment I'd say that I'm carrying a bit of excess weight. I don't do weights etc, just run, cycle, and rowing machine. If I start training again then in three weeks I'll easily be back down to around 83kg. But it's party season etc, so I'll just be doing my usual January of no booze and no takeaway to sort myself out then.
To say I'm nearly anorexic is laughable.
Sounds like you're what some would describe as "skinny fat". That is, you don't have a big belly, but you're soft as you lack muscle mass. 13st at 6ft5 would suggest you have very limited muscle. However if you are into endurance and your health is good, then who cares? If you look at top level marathon runners and the like, they often look almost emaciated. Just depends on what you want to do I guess. If I was to look at myself in the mirror at the moment I'd say that I'm carrying a bit of excess weight. oops sorry brabusmog, really poor choice of words by me in my original post- I really wasn't suggesting that you were anorexic as you certainly aren't! Its interesting that you can be anorexic and everyone thinks you have a problem, but if you are very obese you are just lazy. You would never tell an anorexic just to eat more!
