How about we start handing out 'Hipster Hater' cards, see how they like that? wkers.
There's really no need. You're generally leaning against an open door with that one.

TBF, it pretty well sums things up that the hipster was picking on those who are exceptionally unlikely to retaliate in any way. Superficial and cowardly - a most unattractive combination.

what makes people think that they have the right to impose their version of life onto other peoples lives? wkers
Well if we are paying for it through the NHS perhaps?

Or being told that being a "chubby chaser" is the new normal while looking for a new mate.
we is the operative word, we all contribute to the NHS via taxes, why should we get to tell others how to live their lives? i'm sorry you don't get that right just because you pay taxes, there is lots i don't like being paid for my taxes, i don't drop a card in the lap of a smoker and tell them to kill themselves in case they get cancer and cost the NHS money in the future.

Exactly, for example, what constitutes 'normal' in the USA, I hate to imagine.

I'm old enough to just about remember as a kid the last of post-war rationing, and my mum cutting out ration coupons from her ration book with scissors. Don't remember there being a lot of wobbly overweight people around during my childhood.
Check out some "Rubenesque" paintings from 400 years ago, as another poster suggested. Times and fashions change. And it is highly debateable as to whether we as humans in UK were healthier post war to now. I would suggest we are healthier as a nation now..? Difficult, I am not a health professional or expert, but do know there were some stty diseases and "lifestyle choices" about then.

And yet no evidence that either of the women handed these cards, ie the subject of this thread are in any way criticising any other woman.....at all. And no evidence that any of the women in his office that don't have the "perfect" bodies are doing anything similar?

So rather a pointless comment, don't you think?

For all you guys pontificating about how fat these women are and how it is their fault, go and make your comments to your circle of female friends and acquaintances, colleagues, then see what they think of you.

Otherwise you're not much better than the scum handing out these cards, you're anonymously criticising a stranger who has done nothing to you and only come to your attention due to the vile actions of a couple of smart arse cowardly tools. Would you say what you are saying here to her face.....? What about if she was with her boyfriend or dad?

You should be ashamed of yourselves in all honesty. Call yourself "men"?
fking hell, so I'm like one of these rude people handing out cards because? Why? Would I say that I think she's overweight to her face? Yes I would if she asked me. I wouldn't just tell her my thoughts, as I wouldn't be having them if I was just sat on the tube minding my own business. But the act of someone put a card in her lap telling her she's fat leads me to make a judgement based on all the reporting that has since happened, and I think she could do with losing some weight. I wouldn't use it as an insult, but I am entitled to my opinion on what I think is healthy and looks good, and I think she is neither. And if she was with her dad, yes, I would say it. I doubt she'd be with a boyfriend as she's so fat....

For the avoidance of doubt and liberal bleeding heartedness, that last sentence was a joke.

Why would anyone want to offend fat people?

It's perfectly acceptable to think someone is fat but not to tell them they look fat. I've got friends that are fat they know they are fat, why would I want to then tell them they are fat? It's not cowardly at all.

Or do you mean it's cowardly because the woman in the article might read these comments and be offended?

Its a first world problem, they are fat and need to accept the fact, it should be a criminal offence too allow your child to be an obese pig just as it is technically illegal to buy them alcohol / tobacco.

They should also stop selling revealing clothes in anything over size 14, I do not need to see some beached moby dick rolling down the high street in her 'hotpants'.

"I'm just big boned", no 'chubbs' you have no self control and cannot be trusted at the buffet.

We have allowed this to become social acceptable, I watched a chap in work who after climbing two flights of stairs needed to sit down as he sounded like Darth Vader having an asthma attack! An old school teacher used to have to take the elevator from the school canteen to her office because she was too fat to waddle up the stairs yet would have three sausage rolls in her pudgy fingers!

My girlfriend and I have a take-away once a week and a meal out 2 times a week plus I have lunch out every day ... I am not a fat whale, I walk, have diet drinks, restrict snacking etc to ensure I do not become a bloody fire hazard.

Yes it is their own choice but have some self respect, rather than crying into your Doritos Sharebag.

Rant.

I think you are a tosser of the highest order

Irrespective of whether someone is fat or thin, you do not have the right to call them names, or mock them.
If you don't like what a woman who is size 14 or more is wearing, don't look at her. She is not dressed for you, she is dressed for herself!!

You are part of this issue with society and thanks to you, and people like you, part of the reason these feminists berate all men.

And while, personally, I don't particularly enjoy seeing large women in leggings / revealing clothing, I wouldn't dream of saying anything to them or even commenting on a forum like this or calling them "chubbs" in a demeaning manner.

Maybe your work colleague had Asthma?

Being fat does not AUTOMATICALLY mean you are unfit. When I used to go the the gym (in our conservatory...) I would be able to do 80 sit ups in 2 minutes, could quite happily do a 7 intensity (out of 10) on the bike machine for 45 minutes without getting too out of breath and a good heart rate. Despite that and eating healthily (salads, no chocolate, chicken, no dressing) I didn't lose a single pound, but I did "feel" better so I guess that's OK.

I'm 6 ft and my weight fluctuates between 17 and 18 stone.

I do not think it's acceptable for your child to be fat, and I don't particularly like the obesity crisis but you have come across like a c*nt. There are things which need to be done. Like you say, cutting out sugary drinks, etc.

It is not acceptable to anonymously hand out cards to people being rude, demeaning, offensive or hurtful, even if, in your opinion, it's truthful/honest. You are no better than those handing out the cards, why don't you go and join them you bell.

Size 14 is not fat. Between Size 10 and 14 is a normal, healthy weight for a normal woman, who is not a self-obsessed skinny person.
There ARE different body types and metabolisms which accounts between size 8-14 .
Personally I like a nice survy 10-14 as I don't like snuggling a stick. And no I'm not a "chubby chaser" as I'm sure you'd call me.

On an unrelated note, the BMI scale is BS and so is the "sizing" scale.
According to the BMI a Size 10 girl is classed as "Overweight". It's absolute crap. No wonder depression/suicides/mental instability/ilnesses are on the rise with shallow minded pricks insulting people.
For me I found food an easy way out during the darkest days of my depression. Between lifestyle changes and medication I very rarely feel the need to "pig out" to make myself feel better anymore. But not everyone is like this.

The Transport Police involvement is surely a response to what is anti-social behaviour, adults shouldn't be running around handing out insult cards based on their own personal prejudices, where will it end if we tolerate such behaviour? In addition to which, the grammar and spelling on that card is deplorable and worth a card in its own right.

Really people . If a card was given to an under weight person saying similar things on it about starving your self. There would be understanding and sympathy with every comment. And would you say that its a life choice. No you wouldn't . If These people who where giving these card out had a life threatening illness or an life threatening accident . Would they refuse blood or an organ to save your own life cause the person giving it was over weight.

Can I ask if there is a medical reason for this?

The reason I ask is that I'm 6ft5 and when I'm in peak shape (from running, nothing to do with weights) I will weigh 13stone. I'm currently about 13 and a half and it's obvious that I've had a lazy few weeks. 17 or 18 stone for someone 6ft sounds high, unless it's muscle.

I'm not fat but work with loads of fatties. They're always commenting on me not eating enough or doing too much exercise. It's actually much more socially acceptable to comment on someone being thin than fat. I even put on some weight after having an injury and these body image fascists thought it was ok to tell me I looked better with more weight on.

I'm right in the healthy weight group by most methods of measuring it but there are so many overweight people in the UK that what's average or healthy has been skewed towards the bigger people.

Don't kid yourself that that's peak shape - you have a pigeon chest and get worried when the news reports the possibility of high winds.

Very true, probably a waste for them to find some bloke who will feign an apology and get a "don't do it again".
I don't know. Handing out cards to people that say 'you're too fat' is pretty crazy behaviour in my book. Probably best that they have a quiet chat with the bloke just so they can make sure he’s just some hipster dhead and not about to escalate his campaign by throwing someone he deems overweight under a train.

Maybe it is about time people woke up to the reality, the UK is a fat nation where it has become social acceptable.

I do not condone what the 'man' who handed the lady this card did, but at what point is the trigger that makes you do something about your size?

I would love to not see them, but to be frank you can't really miss them. It's about having some self respect, social standards and general tact; part of the reason why I left the self-indulgent, selfish country that is the UK.

Maybe they need to consider what is appropriate dress and this extends to anyone, fat or thin.

He was not asthmatic, he was so fat he could not even tuck a shirt in.

It is a lifestyle choice, people choose to be fat, people choose to smoke, people choose to drink; smoking and drinking are restricted by age and by location (outside / not in the street for example), yet nothing for obesity.

Here in Germany I cannot remember when I last saw an extremely fat person.

@mrbarry123 Depends what he wants to be in shape for.

If he is fighting Anthony Joshua tomorrow then probably not, if he is riding the tour de france then probably he's in good shape (at least on weight terms for the height!)

One thing we CAN agree on is that 18 stone of lard is peak shape for fk all (which may or may not be true of the other chap).
