No idea but I definitely wouldn't be eating any sweets if they put them out like they do with the school trips.

Positive, and really what is preached in those mosques is key. In your experience, anything that would concern non-Muslims?

Amazing isn't it. There have been posts in here complaining that we don't know what goes on in Mosques.. Yet when they announce open days, the first reaction is negative.

I did say positive. Reassurance that mosques are not used to spread any hate is surely a good thing.

Tongue firmly in cheek fella.
I'm surprised the usual crowd is not complaining about ulterior motives.

Not sure how truthful this is but if you're supposed to go to the mosque, make sure you do.

There is no ulterior motive.
They just would like others to understand.

But... the difference here is... it isn't a forced school trip. Everyone can chose or not to accept the invite.

And maybe others are fed up with you "playing the man...not the ball."
It would be good to debate with you... but your repeated callouts of ( gently put I may add ) "liar liar pants on fire"... do you a dis-service.

I haven't called you disingenuous once.

You have repeatedly done so.

Go for it.

You are. Your posts clearly show you to be. Your concern is often not the subject, but the fact that it's muslims involved. Admit it and let's be done with it.

If that's not the case, I apologise, but I'd find it very hard to believe.

I am sorry you find it hard to believe. But it is true.
And I doubt I am ever going to convince you.

And please stop the "crusade" of trying out people.... when there is nothing there.
Please consider....sometimes.... there really isn't a bogey man out to get you.

And on a positive note.... opening their doors is a good thing.

I have no dog in the fight so no bogeyman is after me.

I don't like tarring a whole bunch of disparate people with the same brush. I can fully understand someone not liking Islaam a la AJS. But what is wrong in my view, is lumping all Muslims together, like they are some homogenous mass.

Criticise incidviduals all you like, but don't assume all the followers of any religion/organisation/demographic/race etc etc are the same. And too much of that happens on PH and I'm happy to call it out when I see it.

Maybe go down to an opening yourself?

Be honest, open day are not the normal going on of what ever establishment you visit, when the company I work for had a open day everything was polished to within an inch of its life and everybody was on their best behaviour, same if you go to a school open day, I still think the idea is a good one, but is nothing more than a controlled snap shot

I don't disagree with that but it's always damned if you do, damned if you don't. Most places of worship are open to all "24/7" in any case. Given the bad press Muslims get at the moment, what would you suggest?

I have been ( many years ago )
I have also read the Koran.
No surprise that it is not for me... ( But neither is Judaism, Hinduism, Christianity etc etc )

I hold all of them in equal regard.

I did say it was a good idea, a small step on a long road but in the right direction, the problem is the bad press at times is swamping the good.

If they're putting a buffet on I'll turn up.
