Which would be how then?
By not going in "full retard"How hard would it have been to command have a quite word with Martin?
So, now they have arrested him, committed vast resources to searching his farm, etc etc all in the full view of the press.

The bosses have a duty of care to their officers. For every 10 blokes gobbing off about having dodgy firearms, one of them may well have. With Martins history of burglaries who's to say he hasn't set up some booby traps for good measure.
They arrested him in town, or are you suggesting he booty trapped that too?Scuffers said:

The only person going full retard is you.How hard would it have been to command have a quite word with Martin?

A job needed doing and the resources needed were used. That isnt 'full retard' because you can appreciate or agree with the amount of staff required.

So? The information is either acted upon or it's not. If it is then it gets done properly. Actions aren't taken with consideration to appease those who have no idea what they are talking about (people like you).
Yes, of course. Because one firearms operation (out of 13k per year) has loads to do with police finances.
You're not really capable of forming any sort of cohesive or rational argument are you? You just type the first rubbish that comes into your head. Do you not find it embarrassing you're wrong so much?

Rubbish - in reality it didn't - leave him alone and let him get on with his life.
We maintain low firearms crime because information about illegal possession is acted upon. Perhaps you like to pick and choose which (potential) illegal firearms to seize, but I prefer a consistent approach. Scuffers said:
Well, I'm sure it's cost more than your salary, so maybe that means they can do without you?
I'm unsure if you're having a laugh at everyone else's expense or you really are as dim as your posts suggest. I'm content that firearms are 'planted' where needed to suit the situation and secure the necessary verdict from the coroner ......
I am also fine that a man subjected to repeated and concerted invasion of his property sorts it out and sends a message - I'd like to think I could do the same.

He stated in a national newspaper that he had illegal firearms and you think the police should just leave him alone! Jesus!I am also fine that a man subjected to repeated and concerted invasion of his property sorts it out and sends a message - I'd like to think I could do the same.

You'd struggle to see them if the sun reflects off the tin foil. Willhire89 said:

The original matter involving Martin was certainly one which divided opinion. The law has actually changed to allow home owners to use greater force than in any other circumstances. I would still expect Martin to fall foul of it. eccles said:

It's incredible isn't it - I'm 52 with five grandchildren and believe in the face of no-one giving a st you sort yourself out....
If I lived in Emneth and (given the history of crime) I would want (and do empathise with those who want ) to be able to look after myself and not rely on anyone else

The law hasn't changed. There was lots of talk of it but nothing of significance has ever nbeen enacted. Gassing Station | News, Politics & Economics | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
