PMs private messages/personal messages on PH
Discussion
PH Personal Messages should go direct to your regular email address, as long as you have registered it on your personal details section of PH.
Have you checked to see if your spam filter is directing replies straight into your trash bin?
Click on your PH name to bring up your profile page, then scroll down to bottom left, Members Email. Tick the box to allow others to email you.

ISPs seem to be using a scoring method to interecept spam.
Some emails are bounced as spam immediately and returned to sender
The rest is allowed on its way
Some of that doesnt get anywhere due to spam filters and is lost
Some gets to the recipient and marked as spam
some of which goes into a spam box
and some appears in your in box and marked as spam
The scoring is based on the score of the sender ISP and the receiver ISP - do they have a high percentage of spammers
Any address provided by nominet i.e. all .uk has an elevated base score
If your message has typical spam words that elevates the score
What it means is that while a few messages are definitely not spam, and some definitely are, there are many messages either side of the spam filter boundaries
So some spam messages get through as theyre not scored enough to be spam
and some normal messages can have enough scoring to be counted as spam.
I dont know if its the same for anyone else but I cant currently guarantee that any message I send will be alloed to get to the recipient. Nor can I aguarantee that any message I'm supposed to receive will reach me.
In fact I can confirm that some dont.
It's not just ISP email addresses, independent emails such as gmail are affected too
The best but not easiest thing to do is turn off all spam filtering (if your ISP/email client will let you) and decide for yourself which emails are really Spam.
ETA ISPs use companies set up to assess spam filter scoring and levels. Its not unusual to get a period of a few weeks where many emails are marked as Spam but eases off as the scoring shifts
The PH issue could be PH based or where the filters are set
ETA
If anyone has been sending a PM I havent received one for months
