Why all this acrimony towards quadcopters? (or drones as they have been unfortunately tagged by journalists). As somebody up above said - a great hobby, and GetCarter has shown how they are fantastic for aerial photography.

Anyway, what would this do to an Eagle's feet I wonder?

I'd guess that in the 'last-ditch' counter terrorism efforts, the damage to a eagles feet will be considered quite low down the list of priorities. Similar to SF sending in dogs first into certain target buildings. If they get killed or hurt, bad times but needs must.

Though they shouldn't be able to grab it with missing or mutilated feet.
