I broke a leg in a motorbike incident (totally my fault), was I on the same waiting list as Bob who had lung cancer? Were we being treated by the same person?

Anyway, I've paid my taxes which allows me access to the NHS in such a case and had never been a burden on the service before (thankfully) so why shouldn't I be treated?
Simple solutions to "waiting lists" for those who pay Tax - Prove it + Skip 50% of the benefits mob also on the list. Only skipping 50% to ensure the other 50% are continually moving through the system.

You are getting to see a skilled professional at your request who is there to help you. I don't see that waiting 15 mins is an issue. Besides, if people turned up on time maybe the doctors could see people on time.
People here are pedantic beyond belief. For me there can be few reasonable excuses to simply NOT turn up to an appointment with a doctor. How people manage to 'forget' they have an operation in hospital scheduled is inexplicable. Yet people here suggest that fining these people is somehow unreasonable or not cost effective.
i guess you missed the part of my post where I said I was first appointment of the day and still had to wait because the doctor wasn't there on time..

I've even had the same problem while having an MRI scan. Was booked in as first of the day at 8am, but didn't even get taken on the 5 minute walk from reception to the portable unit in the car park until 40 minutes after my appointment and then had another 20 minute wait before the scan. i hadn't been bumped because of an incident or problem, they were just late starting. Didn't even get an apology for the delay.

I'm simply saying if you started to charge for late arrivals, you'd have a massive backlash on days when the doctor's or other service is running late.

Charging for no-shows is fair enough - don't have a problem with that at all.
