I'd be looking between £500-700 really.

They aren't as desireable and they have the chain driven cams, not gear driven which can fail hence them going to gear driven after.

I wouldn't want it unless it was super cheap

I was thinking the same as Tom, but read the service and new bits so thought I'd be a little generous.

Aren't all VFR750's gear driven cams? confused I thought the R showed they were gear driven after the disaster that was the chain driven cams on the VF750.

D'oh!

I stand corrected, it was the VF I was thinking of

getmecoat

Still they are less desireable and look a bit cack, have a browse of ebay/gumtree/preloved but really you can grab a tidy RC36 for £1k-ish so I wouldn't be trying to get the earlier model unless there is something amazing about it.

However if it ticks all your boxes, is local and cheap then go for it

I paid 1400 for a 98 vfr800. 35k with fresh mot and good hist. Slightly scruffy.

On that basis, more miles, no mot or hist - 500-700 sounds about right
