Alarm keeps going off

Hi,

My alarm keeps on randomly going off on my Ro

Its just the siren, none of the lights are flashing and i get no message up on the display after. Using the button unlocks the car but it still carries on going off. I have to leave it running for about 5 mins then it stops.

The only thing i have noticed is my boot lock is very loose, which i will sort tonight.

Has anyone else experienced this before?

A bit of a guess I'm afraid. But drawing parallels with an Omega I has some time ago, the alarm's internal battery on that had died due to old age and gave symptoms similar to this.

Hi Steve,

Yes this is what I'm thinking too. I saw someone had the same problem with an omega when i did a google search.

I might take that apart today and have a look.

Going back sometime (pre VXR8) IIRC on the Omega I had to cut off the sealed casing (junior hacksaw then, but I've a multi tool now). Measured up the exisitng smallish lead acid batt and bought a new replacement, CPC then, but now I'd try ebay.

I had this on my RO. Check that when you have locked the doors with the remote that both doors are actually locked. My pax side wasn't and that is why the alarm kept going off. It turned out to be a faulty lock motor.
