Anybody here used eBay Classifieds in Germany?

Got a rare car part up for sale that I want to buy, but it doesn't seem linked to my normal ebay account. There's no feedback system that I can see, it seems to be a case of "be careful" and use PayPal.

Now I know that PayPal gives you some protection, but anybody know if it's full of scammers like GumTree?

It's 150 Euros or so so while it's not going to break the bank I'd rather not throw it away!

I've bought and sold plenty of parts via eBay.de and never had an issue.

That's the thing though, it's not ebay.de - doesn't accept my login. Seems it's some sort of separate classifieds site running in Germany and the US.

I can't seem to see a paper trail of previous sales or anything like that so there doesn't seem to be any history. Might be chancing my arm but it's pretty rare what I'm after...

kleinanzeigen is classified.

eBay bought a classifieds site called Kijiji and is branded as eBay classifieds in Germany.

Thanks chaps. Guy has replied and wants IBAN transfer. Not keen myself as obviously there is no protection for me - at least I have a modicum of protection with PayPal. Might have to cover his fees though...

ETA: I gather IBAN payments are quite common in Germany, and ebay.de doesn't insist on ebay. Not sure what benefits it offers the buyer though...

Virtually all payments are done by IBAN here. It took a while to get used to but most ebay sellers also do Paypal now. All of the things I have done through kleinanzeiger have been direct bank transfers and it just relys on trust of which there is still some here.
