On the BBC bias thread there was a poster claiming that the BBC hierachy are all Zionists. Those who look for bias will find whatever flavour they seek.
What kind of ridiculous quantum theory of bias is that? Presumably therefore there is no bias as only those with perfectly neutral views will know.0000 said:

So, the pound is up against the Euro today.
It's down a bit against the US Dollar.
These people have no shame.
The Telegraph was running exactly the same story this morning, although they've pulled it now. It's down a bit against the US Dollar.
BBC said:
The pound is heading for its biggest drop in nearly seven years against the dollar amid uncertainty about a possible British exit from the EU.
At one stage it was down 2.1% at $1.41020, the biggest one-day drop since March 2009.
You cannot report on "one day" drops until the day has finished - so we have not seen "the biggest one-day drop since March 2009". At this point, that claim is an outright lie. The funny thing is that the story was only published 27 minutes ago, when it was already provably untrue. At one stage it was down 2.1% at $1.41020, the biggest one-day drop since March 2009.
These people have no shame.

Not to the same extent, but when the British right and left wings (who are generally not too extreme) both moan about the BBC being biased the opposite way then it's pretty clear that it's approximately in the middle ground overall. The problem is too many people are very biased because they surround themselves with people and things that support their view. Anything that is different is automatically biased against them then.
I hardly think the left and right moan equally about BBC bias at all, but obviously it's easy to apply the same flawed argument there. It seems pretty weak to cast off any suggestion the BBC is biased as being due to the content consumer; it suggests they're always above criticism regardless of the content, even if they start only broadcasting trade union conferences.NRS said:

There is none. If it's different to your view it will effectively be biased, Kermit power said:

They have changed the headline from:-
"Pound heading for biggest one-day fall since 2009 on Brexit fears"
to
"Pound hits lowest level against dollar since 2009 on Brexit fears".
The funny thing is that the pound strengthened against the Euro today.
So, the markets clearly think that the Eurozone will do even worse if Britain leaves the EU.

rubbish, that's just perception, bias is black/white issue, perception is grey.TTwiggy said:
So the poster on the other thread who thought that the BBC was BOTH left-wing biased AND run by a Zionist hierachy is what? Correct on one count and wrong on the other? Or maybe it is all about perception and that happens to be his perception of the BBC.
basically, yes.bias can be measured, perceptions are harder to quantify.
I do think the BBC is biased, that does not mean I think they are Zionist, and I suspect it would be somewhat hard to demonstrate that!
