BBC Bias EU referendum

The funny thing is that the pound strengthened against the Euro today.
The funny thing is, it hasn't. The news outlets are correct, the £ has hit a multi year low against the dollar and it has weakened against the euro. Here's another news source beginning with B, but hopefully less likely to fuel the conspiracy theories.

So the poster on the other thread who thought that the BBC was BOTH left-wing biased AND run by a Zionist hierachy is what? Correct on one count and wrong on the other? Or maybe it is all about perception and that happens to be his perception of the BBC.
basically, yes.bias can be measured, perceptions are harder to quantify.
I do think the BBC is biased, that does not mean I think they are Zionist, and I suspect it would be somewhat hard to demonstrate that!

The article suggests that the BBC is so biased that it does not know it is biased.
Example - referring to 'coming out of Europe', rather than 'coming out of the EU'.
not sure whether that's biased or poor journalism and I'm also not sure which is worseExample - referring to 'coming out of Europe', rather than 'coming out of the EU'.

Looks like Sterling has fallen against the Euro to me - not sure where you get the idea it has strengthened.

If it's different to your view it will effectively be biased,
rubbish, that's just perception, bias is black/white issue, perception is grey. Also what is factual may be regarded as bias in a longer term trend. A report that a black man has killed someone? Factual. Lots of reports a black person has killed someone? To some people that would be factual. To others it may be biased because it is portraying black people in a negative way. To be unbiased you would have to measure the percentage of black murderers versus those of other colours and then run stories according to those percentages.

a bunch of people on here get very angry because the BBC is not a Tory newspaper.
Wrong. Those same people actually consider the Torys to be a dangerous left-wing cabal. markcoznottz said:
Most media is under Jewish control, that is a fact. There is also a revolving door BBC - guardian - government, it's riddled with common purpose commie goons, that is a fact. In fact didn't a retired exec actually admit a left bias? Question time is one safe space away from an Oxford uni debate.
Something that is often overlooked is that whilst there are indeed many powerful jews in the world of media, they too tend to be of left wing leaning, contrary to the 'typical jew' in this country. Particularly the jews in the BBC. They also very often tend to have a different opinion on the Israel/Palestinian conflict than the 'typical British jew'. Oh and by & large, they tend to be less observant too. Massive generalisations with lots of exceptions of course, but based on extensive personal experiencejonby said:

Are you sure that's not biased? limpsfield said:

An undervalued Pound is excellent news for our exporters, and will boost our employment figures even further.
This is very welcome news.
The FTSE100 did well today because investors understand that a weak pound is excellent news for our manufacturers. It is also excellent news for the unemployed.
