20% of what we spend (an immense amount of money) on the NHS goes to pay compensation and legal fees. That is a lot of tax down the drain. Many claims are just greedy chavism.
The NHS also treats foreigners who just walk in, paid for by us. And it pays for elective stuff such as breast enhancement, tattoo removal, fertility treatment and liposcuction.
An extremely high % of NHS time is spent on self inflicted diseases. Alcohol, tobacco and obesity. Yet we blithely go on paying for this. In an insurance based system the premiums for self abusers would be higher and those who have not contributed as adults would not receive.
The NHS has one of the highest mortality rates of any developed world health services. It kills a lot of people who would not die in, say, France or Germany. This is mainly because it is utterly useless at diagnosing disease. Because if they don't diagnose it then they don't have to treat it.
The NHS is not the "envy of the world". No other country has copied it. It is a marxist construct that exists principally for the benefit of the trade unions and to keep the population under control.
The junior doctor strike is purely, 100%, political. The left said they would weaponise the NHS and that is what they have done. The junior doctors are about half of all clinical staff. Withdrawing them must cause harm and deaths, otherwise why do we employ them? Hunt has increased the pay offer from 11% to 13.5% and guaranteed no wage reductions, this is alongside a sharp reduction in working hours, all paid for by a huge injection of our money. And yet they want more. They really do occupy the moral low ground.

Really?

'A Buckingham Palace spokesman said: "We can confirm that we have this morning written to the chairman of the Independent Press Standards Organisation to register a complaint about the front page story in today's Sun newspaper."'

That would seem fairly unambiguous and easy enough to prove or disprove

What I never understand is any rightwing news outlet speaks the truth, but a leftie outfit is all lies.

History has shown Both equally bad at telling the truth over time. So to get the best views, you should read the Daily Mail followed by the militant.

That does not prove that Mrs Windsor did not say what she did say.

It does prove that Buckingham Palace feels that the report by The Sun is "inaccurate, misleading or distorted".

Given the Royals' usual response to press reports they must feel, quite strongly about this to have lodged a complaint.

Well, it certainly proves that she denies what The Sun alleges she said. And I'll take the word of the Monarch over a grubby boobz'n'footballaz tabloid any day of the week.

This was a classic, the BBC reported the Ofcom complaint about the BGT performing dog swap, but neglected to report that their own climate propaganda funding dishonestly had been caught out.

Lest we forget historical propaganda, all made up by the Yorkshire police, to discredit people during a tragedy.
Covered up for twenty years. No police ever prosecuted. Perjury repeated endlessly.
Yorkshire police fked up this, catching the Ripper and lately Rotherham.
Disgraceful.

Yeah the Brexit debate is very dodgy for this stuff.
Never heard "Amzon" style tax dodging mentioned.
Everything is decamped to Luxembourg pop 200000, where they pay a token tax and suck it all offshore.
One of the biggest retailers in the UK, paying nowt, all thanks to the EU.
Plusses and minusses, but funny how this never gets mentioned.

Great article in the FT about how politicians abuse and cherrypick statistics to come up with statements which aren't untrue technically, but which are unrepresentative of the truth, or Bullst.

It gives examples of Labours claims abot budget changes and Hunt's claims of people dying at from weekend hospital admissions, but I think you can see loads of it going on with the EU referendum.
