Self needs a slap. A really, really good slap and sent back to the academic rarified air he likes so much.

Let us in the real world get on with the job.
His problem is that he's not an academic either.
Isn't he a professor or some such? Or am I mistaken. Which is possible!

Looked like Self was giving Dimbleby the finger then, while he scratched his eye!

No, you are correct in that he was given a professorship in "Contemporary Thought" at Brunel a few year ago.

I think that says it all.

She is spot on. She is saying a version of something I was flamed for in the Finance section, namely that politicians will always find a way to spend your tax money and then ask for more.

We need to look at reducing tax burdens and not increase them.

Delusional mouthpiece.

The Irony that Alanis Morrisette herself would throw up over - Self lambasts that Trump promises one thing means another, yet Self actively gloats in the idealism that spouts butis undeliverable.
I'm not clear what you mean by "butis undeliverable". Reading between the lines I would venture that we're heading for a reckoning, and what Self is suggesting is the better way to work through it.

At Mensch??

Jeez, you need to lift your standards. She's neither particularly attractive nor particularly bright. A good 7/10 on both counts.

There was a discussion on R4. The official line was circa £250m. Another view was up to £2bn.
