I'm not clear what you mean by "butis undeliverable". Reading between the lines I would venture that we're heading for a reckoning, and what Self is suggesting is the better way to work through it.
Self fancies some kind of Utopia. oooooorrrrr he just likes sounding controversial ? Pick one
He clearly has no idea of which sector of taxpayer already pays the rump of income tax receipts and seems to not understand that attracting more businesses to teh UK with a lower rate of CT would generate more revenue.
He's not just a bore, but a bore without much of a clue about how economies work.

Who the hell knows how economies work? Our government doesn't seem to.
I'm not suggesting there is no place for questioning elements of how the world (and our small part of it) is working. It is, clearly, not perfect. But naive mutterings about tax evasion, corporation tax, taxing the rich more etc achieves little.
Agree with you - economies are complex and nobody really knows precisely how they work well enough to predict their behaviours accurately. But self seems to not have bothered to understand some of the basics. Or maybe he has, and just disagrees that lowering CT will attract business to the UK.

He's in no way the gift-wrapped answer to the world's problems, but he is asking the right questions.
He said we didn't want burger flipping jobs in the UK as a result of the comment about McDonald's moving their tax office here. How can someone with that thought process provide any sensible input to discussions on the economy? He's an idiot pretending to be clever to people who cannot think for themselves.
I read a bit of Self 10 years ago, he impressed me.
I've grown up a bit now, advanced my knowledge and intellect, become more 'worldly wise'. He hasn't moved on at all, he's just an arch contrarian with a good grasp of language and a unique delivery.
I realise now that I was easily impressed before. Anybody can go on QT and make the popular argument, especially as the majority of the audience are stupid.
I am always most impressed by the people who speak and get no applause, not those who get rapturous approval.

By complete coincidence Pete Doherty was on Channel 4 News earlier on having his ring piece licked by Krishnan Guru-Murthy. it could have been an interview but it was hard to tell. His eyes high as a kite. I would have avoided him in real life.
By an amazing coincidence pops up on QT same day.

He must have an obituary about to be published. Don't laugh. By an amazing coincidence pops up on QT same day.

the problem is that asking questions is the easy bit, any idiot can do that - the difficult part is finding answers....irocfan said:

I think his point was that we should try to generate and attract real jobs that don't ruin people's self-esteem (and health).
fk off about self -esteem it's high time we stopped looking down our noses at people who do basic simple jobs that are just as important to society as any other ....Digger said:

I like Self. A step above everyone else there intellectually, he cuts through the bullst - every time.
Am assuming that's an attempt at sarcasm - I worry for you if notAll last night proved was how out of touch most of them (politicians, media luvvies, etc) are. The more appallingly rude & unprofessionally they all behaved toward Farage, the more the general public will carry on sticking two giant fingers up at them - can you imagine the outcry if Farage had been talking to them they way they talked to him !
The labour guy was too thick to understand that all the reasons he gave for Trump not being Time person of the year (basically all Trump's outspoken stuff), the more reason in fact Trump should have been given that award and as for (indirect) comparisons of Trump to Hitler & Stalin, again it just alienates people and makes it look like the politicians are looking down their noses at the electorate
Self spoke mostly, complete and utter nonsense. By way of example, the cheap jibe about Mcdonalds means he either doesn't understand (so shouldn't be commenting) or does but is deliberately ignoring the facts. Not sure which is worse but as he is not a politician and therefore in theory should find it easier to cut through the BS on QT, what on earth was he doing ?!?
In general, all a show like last night does is boost popularity for Farage, Trump and indeed anyone who is seen as not being part of the inner circle. Those doing the mocking look like they are actually the ones behaving the most appallingly and I include Self very much in that group.

Did you see the video of Farage lecturing an audience of MSM journos that appeared on YouTube in the last week or so?All last night proved was how out of touch most of them (politicians, media luvvies, etc) are.
