Silly - yes, very. The current political regime in Turkey is nasty - it's not wanted in Europe.
SO NOW...... their parliamentary President is now trying to change their constitution and make Turkey an islamic religious state... supported by that awful guy Erdogan. He's only short of 13 votes to get a majority (min 60% of chamber) to change their secular constitution to an islamic one.....

AND the madmen in Brussels want them to become members of the EU!?!??!? Time to vote OUT with a huge majority!! BEWARE the islamic invasion continues!!!!

Very worrying. Turkey is the main reason i'm voting out, personally, and I am telling anybody who will listen.

The silence from the EU concerning Erdogan laying waste to whole cities and arresting anybody who speaks against him is utterly shameful.

Their expansionist agenda makes such concerns irrelevant.

The Spectator is running a competition at the moment for the most/best insulting poem about Erdogan, there's even quite a large monetary prize for the best one.

He's just got rid of the Prime Minister who wanted to regulate the powers of the President, for one who will ensure he gains absolute control.

The example of Turkey alone is enough to convince me why we need to be out of this corrupt system known as the EU

I get that you can not like the way Turkey is run and that you can not like the EU but as Turkey isn't in the EU I'm struggling to see the connection.

A German comedian mocks the Turkish president. That same president calls up his German compatriot and the comedian is arrested. Merkel has promised Turkey everything they demand while turning a blind eye to Erdogan's despotic ways. It will have very profound consequences for the EU...and us if God forbid, we're still in
