What's really interesting is the "bad taste" death list so beloved of some PHers is proving wildly inaccurate.

Great shame, mad as a box of frogs but a genuine talent and mega-star.

Amongst all the showmanship and flamboyance it's often overlooked that he was a superb guitarist, he deserved much more recognition for his playing skills than he got.

Sure I read his private plane made an emergency landing soon after take off due to him feeling ill. He'd just performed a gig in US but had been suffering flu like symptoms for a week or so and had cancelled a concert before the last one!
He was in hospital 3hrs or so after the plane landed and released to fly home.
A Brilliant Showman and incredible talent GONE!! frown

I was just sitting here watching an interview with him followed by watching him play in storm conditions like a pro in Miami. Then I got a text saying.. "Seen the news about Prince?".

Insane. Gutted. My musical idol.

RIP Mr Nelson. Legend in life and death.

I suspect Bruce Forsyth. He still hasn't recovered from surgery in October.

Some mentioned Tim Curry due to frailty since a bad stroke last year.

The term legend gets over used but he really was.

I recorded this in 85 and watched it so many times I wore the tape out : Purple Rain tour, in Syracuse.

One of THE musical geniuses of my generation. Wrote and performed some amazing pieces of music and lyrics.

Shocked and saddened.

RIP.
