Boris was racist, you may not agree but plenty do.
Someone will have to explain to me what was racist about Boris's remark.
To paraphrase Boris "Obama has a chip on his shoulder because he's Kenyan" how is that different to saying "someone has a chip on their shoulder because they're Jewish"
Because the full statement explained why having Kenyan roots may leave a bad taste in his mouth regarding the treatment of his grandfather by the British colonial overlords, Obama wrote a book on this subject about his grandfather.

Clear now?

Suspended. Not kicked out. You have a dishonest way with words. I note you didn't bother to back up your earlier claims in which you tried to play the victim.

Miliband is an atheist.

His latest defence is that two ex girlfriends were jewish and it's insulting to them to suggest that they slept with an anti-semite. KL is very fond of referring to Hitler and the Nazis for some unknown reason. So let's not forget that the Nazis knowingly slept with jewish women too. Indeed some stories suggest that Hitler himself was in love with a woman he assumed to be jewish. So patently we are all mistaken and neither Hitler nor the Nazis were racist.

IIRC his previous latest defence was that it's all the fault of embittered Blairite MPs.

Let's add Helen Goodman to the list of the "Please Ken stop talking and please back down as it's upsetting our backers!" Follow the money. Labour are scared witless that the money will stop if he keeps telling the truth. This is just hilarious now. Filthy half-baked commies brought low by one of them breaking rank and telling the truth. I might just go to the pub and celebrate.

Dog whistle politics by Crosby - it's masterfully shifted the focus from Goldsmith's campaign tactics which were coming under scrutiny.
Very well played by them.

True, but there is a nuance for his faith:

‘I have a particular faith. I describe myself as a Jewish atheist. I’m Jewish by birth origin and it’s a part of who I am.
‘I don’t believe in God, but I think faith is a really, really important thing to a lot of people. It provides nourishment for lots of people'

It must be rather vexing for Miliband to finally realise that nobody actually really believed in him, either.

How did 'they' enlist Ken's help?

The spectacle gets a new voice!

Into the dirty water plunges a chap called Mark Regev. Feet up, coffee on the go, Sunday lunch in prospect and look forward to his attempts to create a storm this coming week.

This could be the best week of my political life so far, all the vile people with perverted moral stances are tooling up to slash each other to shreds, long may it continue.

In MAD magazine there used to be a cartoon titled Spy vs Spy, but the best ones were Spy vs Spy vs Spy, this coming week we have the real prospect of Commie vs Apologist vs PC Moron.

The view from my conservatory this morning is stunning, it's bright, clear and the levels are sprouting as much vibrant spring green as nature will allow the delicate buds to risk. I can faintly smell my breakfast being cooked (Sausages, bacon, eggs, fried sliced tomatoes in olive oil and toast) by the belove'd girlfriend and frankly I could not feel more smugly satisfied with my life and the way that the Communist traitors and the Politically Correct traitors have behaved these last few days. I'm being called to eat. "May Day... mayday?" These are the good times.

I thought that was clearly explained earlier in this thread.
I've not seen an explanation of why it isn't racist.

Let's look at this head-on. The leader in the area was the Grand Mufti, he was the only person who give safe passage to any person passing through the land his people for centuries. Hitler wrote to him in 1932, it was a personal letter trying to persuade him to allow a Jewish settlement within Palestine. The letter was delivered by Germany's Ambassador to the GM one week later. The GM was persuaded and so began the movement of 63,788 jews to Palestine between 1933 to 1939.

Interest free capital loans backed by the 3rd Reich were given to them so as to build houses, every machine used was German Magirus Deutz given for free use. You can today drive down to the coast and drive on to the very jetty that all this 'help' to build a jewish community landed upon, it was built by Hochtief, the same company that built Hitler's bunkers.

Check mate.

Let's get this absolutely clear, in 1933 to 1939 there was a working process that would have lead to a Two-State Middle East. Where, Rothschild and the British Empire had failed Adolf Hitler and the 3rd Reich had started to materially succeed, it may have failed, but it was an accommodation based on a peaceful agreement, the post-war agreement (if you can call it that) has been at daggers drawn since 1946.

To argue that this did not happen and that somehow Hitler didn't go not just the extra mile to help jews achieve a 3000 year goal and looked very likely to succeed is to argue pointlessly.

The ever putrescent Ken Livingstone holds political views I utterly detest, but even scum like him can tell the truth and if he does I have to leap to his defense, I am morally obliged to, I resent having to on one part but will never back down in condemning lies and the re-writing history even when it means standing at the side of communist bast's like him.

Strikes me that's a definition of atheism.

Nice attempt at defending the indefensible, Ken has done no worse than Boris, Zack or Dave. Ken has gone but they remain.
If you want a real laugh, I got an email from Zac Goldsmith the other day asking for financial support for his campaign. Why that zillionaire member of the glitterati is asking me for money beats me.

By the way, and at risk of going off piste, why would Cameron want to remove Corbyn, who is a gift to Tory PR? Because he is an effective proponent of not spending tens of billions on an American nuclear weapons system. If Cameron didn't back Trident 2 and hadn't taken the UK into Syria would O'Bampot have come over and done his little publicity spiel for the EU? That on its own would push me to vote leave what is little more than a politicians retirement club funded by the Fourth Reich.

This whole storm in a teacup is a set up to damage Corbyn. The fact that it also involves a grotesque effort to suppress open discussion is just an unfortunate byproduct.

That's some special tinfoil millinery you've got there; which parts are conspiracy, the bit where the black helicopters used mindcontrol rays to get Naz to put racist bks on facebook, followed by using the same mindcontrol to get Labour HQ to parachute her into Bradford West while simultaneously overlooking her intemperate social media outpourings(it was 2015, social media was the first thing political parties should have been vetting when looking at candidates). The mindcontrol then switches targets to the tory blogosphere and blinds them to her witterings for 11 months followed by mindcontrolling Ken into melting down on the Daily Politics. On second thoughts that last bit probably happened naturally, Ken only opens his mouth in order to change which foot is stored there.

The reality is that if Ken had stayed home and played with his newts, none of this would have happened; Ms. Shah had acknowledged and apologised for her racism and resigned, the story was yesterday's chip wrapper, Ken's dribbling over the airwaves just created a whole new ball of wool for the media to toy with.

The replies on here and interning and informative and I've learnt quite a lot.

However, in this sound byte world regardless of correctness using Hitler as an example of good isn't really going to get you anywhere and is ill advised at best. Thesis is fine, 90 second radio interview, noooooo.
That's about the size of it.

It doesn't matter if the details of what Livingstone said to Vanessa Feltz were right...
Only a person with Communist credentials could write that. It really does matter, it matters a huge amount to most of us, it is only to a 'select' few that it matters not one jot. Takes all sorts I suppose.

Western Civilisation: Truth Matters.
Balls; if Ken had kept his trap shut none of this would have happened and the media would be onto the next 5 minute wonder. As it is in the next week Cameron has a fantastic opportunity to slide some bad news out under cover of this self-generating ststorm.

I often think of the inter-war period as a sort of extended Christmas Truce smile But the on the ground reality was so different.

I have to tell you that the Haavara Agreement was NOT Hitler's or the 3rd Reich's idea. He just grasped it as a neat solution that satisfied all parties aims and ambitions, which, if you look at it, it was! Pragmatism is the name of the game here and Hitler was a pragmatist par excellence. He did take advantage, but so did the jews. A match made in heaven or hell depending on your view point.
There was nowt pragmatic about sending the Wehrmacht into a russian campaign with no winter gear or dividing forces over 3 army groups and a front getting on for 2000 miles wide when there was barely adequate motor transport to support a single army group. Or indeed any major decisions he made of a tactical or strategic nature, the few that turned out right were evidence of the 'stopped clock' effect, not pragmatism. A pragmatist would have sought parley with the UK to defeat bolshevism for more or less any price, not squandered hundreds of aircraft and veteran aircrew firebombing London.
