Hi gents...

You were all very helpful when I took the plunge with my Vantage MY07 last year, thanks again! Will try to post a pic shortly as I didn't get round to it back then.

Another question if that's ok? The alarm has started going off repeatedly - no obvious causes and has been happening every 10/15 mins or so (after stopping it by unlocking) - very annoying when it kicks off at 11pm! Luckily it only seems to happen when the car is locked with the remote on the fob - locking it manually with the key has prevented it happening again so far.

Is this an obvious problem/easy fix? From previous threads it sounds as if a back-up battery may be failing? Any info/context would be helpful before I take it to the (Aston) dealer to be looked at. I'm still under the Aston premium warranty if that helps.

I'm fairly sure it needs the back up battery replacing

It's also possible a spider / web is triggering the ultrasonic sensors, worth a quick wipe around the interior smile

When you lock it with the key does this activate the alarm?

I believe there is a sensitivity button for the alarm. It was pushed inadvertently and my DB9 alarm was being set off by everything in the world. On mine it was on the right side of the dash panel as the door was opened if I remember correctly. Worth a shot...

Thanks guys, I'll do some housekeeping to get rid of any cobwebs and look into your suggestions. I've no idea whether just manually locking sets the alarm - the wing mirrors certainly don't fold in. Will have a look at the sensitivity button - that's the one on the right side of the dash panel, looks like a wireless icon I think?

That switches off the internal sensors I think, worth a try to at least rule it out as the cause.
