TVR Parts won't have a cable that comes even close...Their one is for a Griff...You have to keep the outer cable with the small nut and large crushed thread and large nut and ONLY send the inner cable off to someone like "Not-so-speedy-cables" and make sure they match it for length...And that they put the shackle on the throttle body end...Don't lose the pin.

After you have pulled the new cable carefully through the outer cable fit at the throttle body first ...You want the large nut at its earliest point of travel on the thread...Carefully guide the cable end through the bulkhead...Be careful not to disturb the cable end...It should have a blob of solder on it really...

Push the cable through the bulkhead and through pedal opening at the top of the pedal...You don't need the clip...Fit a good chocolate block, Not the small ones.. to the cable end once you have you can pull the cable taught not tight and screw down the two chocolate block screws...You can then adjust at the throttle body via the big nut.....Enjoy.

If you're desperate, I'll say that it's amazing what you can do with some bicycle brake cable and a couple of screw clamp nipples, and reuse of the old bits/brackets where you can ......

It can get you back on the road whilst you sort a proper cable.

I just got a replacement from TVR parts which is the correct one for my 350i. However, bear in mind they will say they have it in stock but they have to order one to get it in. It took 4 weeks to get mine, after a few phone calls and not a straight tale to be had.

If it's just the end that's un-braided itself then you can fix it, but bike brake cable might be quicker.

Double-check the post I bumped especially regarding filing the pedal retaining end to remove sharp edges.

I too suffered from a broken throttle cable recently on my 350i.
Spoke to Neil at ML performance who informed me that depending on the age of the car there are two possibilities - one available off the shelf replacement and the other a remake of the cable. Mine of course was a cable remake. I sent it to Neil who then got it remade and posted back which took about a week at a cost of about £65. Not cheap but at least its the real McCoy and not a lash up!
Hope this helps

That could almost be reassuring ...Was that for the inner and outer cable with fittings?...

Cheers

Just think a little, bike cable kit so you make the exact length you need, maybe £10 maxi.
So from the £65 special makelaugh you have saved £55. You can go done to the pub have a pint and pat yourself on the back and smile

Hi Ziga

Yes it was for a complete cable with all fittings, fitted perfectly. It is reassuring you can get them, I was merely alerting the time scale so people are not caught out. I made my previous cable from an emergency kit, which did the job, but things are smoother with the correct one.

Throttle cable ordered Sunday. TVR parts sent a credit to reduce postage from £7.50 down to £1.50 Monday and cable arrived today Wednesday which looks to be the right item.

Boom - hats off to TVR Parts.thumbup

Hi

What did you have to do to get the credit for the postage?
