I read today that as EU law has priority over UK law, it might be that using EU law could be used to bring about a WTO exit. That would be novel.

What I don't get is why the opposition have reacted to it all to such an extreme extent.

I've been wondering this since Trump started running for Republican candidate. Say something controversial- your opponent's are outraged. Rinse and repeat until the outrage itself becomes just as farcical as your own comments, then reap the rewards from those offended by the offended. All without spending a penny.

You'd think something like being disappointed but not surprised would be a better tactic than screaming outrage, but maybe I'm wrong and a sizable minority is all any of these guys are aiming for. The centre seems to have been abandoned. Even the Lib Dems have stopped talking about a Peoples Vote and have just plumbed for Extreme-Remainer. I guess you're giving up many potential votes for fewer surefire ones.
