I have some good experience with the Sena SMH10R. Small and easy to install. Sound quality is ok (up to 120km/h you can hear each other well). I have paired it to my sat nav and iPhone. At reasonable speeds I can make phone calls quite well. Only thing I haven't tried is connecting it to anything other than the same Sena. My mates all have the same headset biggrin

I've got an SMH10 (the one before the current models) and it's brilliant. Had it for nearly 3 years now. I use it mainly for listening to music and rider to pillion intercom but have used it bike to bike and taken calls. Sound quality is great and people can't tell you're on the bike without telling them. I've done 130+ and can still have a conversation.

We do the interphone system in the shop as well, to be honest they both do the same thing and are just as reliable. They'll all connect to each other no problem.

Same, my mother would be very angry if she knew I was talking to her while riding, but she has no idea. Did a 4 way with the SMH10 all around europe, it worked very well.

In my Arai I have tucked the battery in the back of my helmet, just inside the collar bit. Now I hardly notice it's there.

I have the same unit and have used it for two years. Works well and easy to user.
Best we have has so far is 7h out of the battery. Voice is clear, will link to tom-tom (set it up as phone).

Sena SMH10R user here too, very happy with it. Preferred it over the standard SMH10 due to being much more discreet and low profile.

My shark helmet already had a battery cutout too so no problem there smile

If you want a cheap option which is far better then the earphones method, there's a £35 'interphone bluetooth headset' availalable via ebay/amazon - this one http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1-x-Set-800M-Interphone-... - I've been using one of these for the past year or so, and it's no frills (no voice commands/radio) but for listening to music and/or satnav it does the job very well for the price.

I've had mine connected to my phone and satnav at the same time, music playing via spotify and satnav instructions coming in over the music nice and clear, although a little quiet at 70+mph (courtesy of a noisy Arai and 7k rpm engine noise). smile

If I get a 2nd helmet for summer/touring use (probably a GT-Air) I'll buy a Sena 10U to go with it.

I bought the Sena 20S about 4 weeks ago and used it a few times and found it to be excellent. calls are easy, listening to music and using the GPS on my phone.

Would recommend it to anyone

10S here. Seems good up to about 60-70 with earplugs in. Beyond that I hear music fine but start to lose the sat-nav directions a little. Usually no problem as I'm normally checking my nav screen if I expect a junction at some point.

Two options. One option is sticky pad to mount the holder. Second option is metal sleeve that goes between the padding and shell, the main part then screws on to this and is pretty secure. The controller clips into place on this. I was concerned that I might knock it off by accident but I've done about 1500 miles with it on (with my winter gloves, so clumsy fingers) and it hasn't had any issues with separating.

Would take a picture for you but I'm away till back end of next week. If you're not in a rush I'll take some pictures when I get back.

It is plastic but it feels fairly secure.

I've got an Intephone set up and to be honest it's crap with phantom noises like somebody throwing furniture down the stairs. I did a software upgrade which changed the sounds from furniture to a cage of lions eating a flock of budgies. Oh and the little foam bits fall off all the time.

I had a Interphone F3MC which did exactly what you described. It was sent back a couple of times, in the end they adjusted something so you had to shout at 70mph to be heard but it did get rid of the background lion roaring sounds. In the end I sold it as it was st, I wouldn't buy another Interphone having wasted money on one.

Is there a bluetooth system that lets you talk to pillions and play music/listen to sat nav without having to press buttons? I know Autocom SPA wired does but having tried it last year we found the wires a pain in the arse, plus the pillion headset packed up on the way to the tunnel for a two week trip so not very impressed with that either.
