Presumably, that's precisely the reason he's stayed North of The Wall all this time.

It's hard to foresee how Brian's nearterm story can play out. He presumably needs a weirwood tree to do his thing, yet seemingly wherever he goes he can be followed by the WW.

If that's true, I cannot see him lasting long - Benjen might be a badass with flaming ball, but he can't do much against the proper hordes or the NK.

Countering that is the clear implication he's important to the overall SoIaF, so must find a way to operate.

Maybe a permanent warging into a dragon? Sod the crippled body, let the wights have it for what it'll do them, leaving his 'soul' to go free and do what it needs to.

Can't see that the 'touch' will be the route the WW take to get through the wall - the Horn of Winter seems far more likely, and could already be in the hands of the NK.
