I'd only just driven past when it happened. Labour MP and strongly 'Stay in EU', so much so her husband was down in London with her kids shouting at Farage and the fishermen yesterday.

Hope to goodness this had nothing to do with the EU Referendum.

That's depressing too. Dragging their kids into that nonsense. Are they even old enough to vote?

if this is how things are going, we might see a leave MP murdered in a revenge copycat attack.

not a good time to be an MP if things get crazy!

Looking at where she was there are more likely scenarios but time will tell and I hope all are OK.

Indeed, I'd be amazed, shocked (and appalled) if this was the case

Reading the updated Beeb article it sounds like she stepped into someone else's scuffle.

I very much doubt it's the EU.

Let's hope no-one - in or out - uses this as a bandwagon to jump on.

Wishing her a speedy recovery.

It actually looks like some sort of street incident she stepped into rather than a targeted attack on her.

This will end up being a "person stopped taking medication" incident - I bet.

Manchester evening news reporting attacker shouted 'Britain First' :/

Elderly attacker 'shouted Britain First'

The man who gunned down Ms Cox shouted ‘Britain First’, an eyewitness claims.

Speaking to Sky News, the witness said the shooter looked to be in his 60s or 70s.

He said the man walked very slowly away from the scene after the attack.

If true that's the referendum decided.
