Sadly as we can see from some of the comments on this thread, even as someone is fighting for their life in hospital, they still plough on with their politics regardless.

From the very few details which have emerged, reading between the lines, I doubt he'll be a true 'hard right' fanatic. He'll probably be some low IQ loner of the type who takes to various fringe causes from time to time because they've got no friends. Likely been on Police radar for a while, minor convictions and noted for unpleasant behaviour, etc.

As someone who used to live there and knows the area and surroundings well, tensions have been mounting around there for a long time and it doesn't come as a surprise to me that it's boiled over into this. Sounds not that different from a certain US gunman. That didn't stop many blaming that attack on religion though.

I think more that the guy was waiting for her and someone else (dry-cleaner) tried to stop the attacker getting to her.
