Perhaps this is just a manifestation of the distrust the Government have managed to invoke in the general population over this matter?
Whichever way it is looked at, the government does not come out of it looking good.
it;s not the population's mistruct , it';s the pathology of the vocal BeLeavers who have been taken in by the public schoolboy commodity trader andthe eton-oxford- nepotism boy who claim they are 'different' the very establishment that created them ... and in the case of lord flip-flop de whif-waff von haw-haw was an ardent member of the the other side until he saw that becoming a BeLeaver provided a better opportunity for his last desperate grab at No 10 ...

You joke, but it actually happened in my local polling station this morning.

Went and placed my vote this morning, and there was a guy there insisting he was to do it in pen. He was voting leave, he told everyone. Laughable.
biggrin I can believe it.
He was also asked to fold the paper before putting into the box, to which he replied "what does it matter, I'm voting out anyway"

The women behind the desk had a little giggle to themselves after he left. I think they might get quite a bit of that today frown

There were 2 of Police Scotlands finest at the polling station when I voted earlier...obviously an SNP plot to arrest anyone who voted Leave for treason

I thought the SNP secretly wanted people to vote Leave so that they can demand another referendum?

Funny even before reading about the conspiracy theory when I was at the Polling Station about an hour ago I asked the lady in charge whether it was ok to put my mark (X) written with a pen (biro type not ink) she hummed and ha-ad a bit and said she saw not reason why I couldn't ....... in the end I wrote my cross firstly with a pen then over copied the cross with the pencil ..... just in case ...... smile

When I went to put my ballot paper in the box I told the lady and she said at every election people complain about have to write with a pencil ....... but nothing has even been done. It has every opportunity for it to be open to abuse.

The one I went to had several signs that said EXIT

I think Nigel Farage put them there.

I've just seen someone say this on my facebook too (weird friend of a friend from the sticks) - it's never crossed my mind before but don't we always have pencils available in this country? confused

But to keep that arguement valid they'd need Scotland to vote overwhelmingly in

What can happen to a pen, but not to pencil?

Well strictly speaking it can happen to a pencil.

Can I join in...

Serious question btw, why do they note the ballot paper number against your name on the list. I thought your vote was supposed to always remain annomous lest you fear retribution for making the wrong vote. By noting your name there is a direct route to seeing how you voted. Me not like that....

My Aunt shared a link on fb re: this use a pen not the pencil farce and some accusatory reasons why. My initial response I deleted as it was a bit too rude. (I may be 42 but I still can't be that rude to family!!) so I think I posted something more along the humorous route.

I have always used the provided pencils to vote and will continue to do so. They really would find easier ways to rig votes than erasing thousands of crosses!!

same as they have at other elections for many many years ... as ironically for the paranoid BeLeavers a measure to counter the vry behaviours they are claiming will occur in the referendum ...

can anyone provide ANY evidence that this information has ever been used ...

Pencils in the voting booths?

Only in the scummy 1s where people can't be trusted not to thieve biros.

Last time I voted there was a quill pen and solid platinum diamond encrusted ink stand for my use complete with a blindfolded flunky to blow the ink dry.

Try working harder, earning more money and moving to a posh area.

If you don't know where they are just follow the chemtrails.

What about crayons? Are we allowed to use them? Would thought they would be pretty permanent however you might have to stop a few from eating them.
