Why lighten up. Is it a joke? If it is then it's in very poor taste. Making a joke about the serious concerns of 2m EU citizens living the UK does not seem funny to me. Then again some of my relatives are amongst that 2m and I am having to deal with the calls seeking reassurance.

Why elderly? Because the elderly retire to Marbella.
Get over yourself..
Yup. The joke was funny.

Someone has obviously just been kicked in the sponge.

Also - it appears Corbyns house has a flat roof... COUNCIL :P
So is the joke funny because it highlights most leave voters are to stupid to understand the vote does not mean all EU immigrants have to immediately leave. Or is it funny 2m EU immigrants in the UK maybe worried about their future.

So... to sum up (although I doubt this'll be the last we hear of it!

Man comes to thread advertising itself as having satirical content about Britain leaving the EU.

Man fails to find one Joke funny, gets on high horse.

Several people attempt to explain concept of 'humour', especially of the satirical variety, to Man in a fairly light-hearted way.

Man remains unamused, gets pedantic, still doesn't, or pretends not to get, joke.

No-one else bothers jumping in to support Man because they got the joke in the first place and (hopefully) understand that sometimes you can poke fun at serious matters in order to highlight the stupidity of the views, pre-conceptions or outright idiocy of the aspects of said matter... which is pretty much the definition of satire TBH!

I didn't find it funny either. Maybe they should have said polish vermin instead.

Not really, as that incident had nothing to do with anything other than nasty, narrow-minded xenophobia, regardless who originated it.

I take KK's original post in this case to be a Satirical jab at those who seem to have viewed the Leave vote as a purely Anti-Immigration ticket, albeit not helped by some of those campaigning for a Leave vote.

The reality is that this isn't the case, but it's still a view that should be held up for ridicule, which the original joke, to me anyway, appeared to do. If it was meant seriously then I agree totally with both you and Mrr T, but I really don't think so!

So you enjoy racist jokes, ginger jokes, perhaps even jokes about the disabled. You are Bernard Manning and I claim my £5.
Yes I do like such jokes, I found Eddie Murphy on stage hilarious when I grew up, I am also partial to Chris Rock & Kevin Hart.

I don't like Bernard Manning, just swearing and being vulgar is not amusing to me.

What jokes do you like, please tell us one!

So let me get this straight the joke is satire on the view that all leave campaigners are portrayed as xenophobic. I have to say I find that interpretation a challenge.

However it's OK now I understand the joke is about how leave voters are so stupid they believe all immigrants have to immediately leave.

TBH I feel you are reading too much into this!

Immigration has been one of the main talking points of the whole referendum campaign and especially highlighted by the Leave figureheads (in terms of having to control it). This aspect of the debate has, at various stages throughout the campaign, come across as/been portrayed as/has been accused of being Xenophobic/Racist etc.

The extreme end of the Leave camp was arguably the likes of Farage et al, who had a heavily 'Anti-Immigrant' stance. You could therefore argue that the view 'all immigrants out' is held by some of the extreme end of Leave voters (not all of them!). Just look at some of the examples paraded by Auntie Beeb over the last few days (which, I think we would both agree, is not indicative of a Leave voter).

KK's comment, therefore, I took as satirically poking fun at that particular, specific group of Leave campaigners, who, in my opinion, ARE racist/xenophobic and are conflating a Leave vote with getting rid of immigrants. It is not poking fun at ALL Leave campaigners OR the overall Leave campaign.

I don't think he's saying that all leave voters are xenophobic, any more than he's saying all leave voters are stupid! Saying that, it's just my view and I could be wrong; I just think you've overreacted a bit!

And you are boring and spoiling a light hearted thread. If you want to voice your concerns please use one of the other threads on the EU.

There's enough of them...

This made me laugh after over 30 of my Facebook friends shared the video where he mentioned it.

To be fair to Farage (I really can't believe I just typed that!), wasn't that Boris/Gove's bus from the Vote Leave campaign? I thought their campaign tried to distance itself a bit from Farage who was supporting the Leave.EU campaign?
And neither does it say "Let's give all of the 350m we send to Brussels, to the NHS"

But no one has ever mentioned that I guess?
The NHS is a black hole. I would rather the money was spent on other things.

I don't know why politicians are obsessed with throwing more cash at the NHS as if that will magically fix it.

I think that makes it pretty clear that the "£350 million" was to go to the NHS.
I do recall it was a rather large part of the campaign for leave. But whether Farage said it or not I've no idea. Still found it amusing.

One should always start a joke with "I say I say I say"

And end it with

Boom Boom.

That's where Terry and June went wrong.

I am not saying it wasn't part of the campaign but it was debunked multiple times.

Am just tired of the NHS being the sacred cow that can't be touched and only fed pound notes.
