There are also many positive interviews and media reports from the USA and other parts of the world.

Shame they are not being shown here.

Anyone still pay their TV licence?
After being witness to the BBCs shockingly one sided reporting and virtual campaigning throughout the run up to the referendum and their continuing abuse of their position, I will admit, this is the first time in my life I have actually considered Refusing top pay simply on principal.
How can one not pay a TV licence? if you have a tv in your home you have to pay it by law frown
But you can choose not to watch the BBC.......
Problem solved easy enough. smile

Le Penn! FFS!!!

Are you surprised!?! A bunch of neo Nazi racist idiots, you might as well have the BNP up there.

I cannot believe you really think a speech from Le Penn praising the UK is a good thing, it makes me ashamed to be British and saddens me to my very core.
Not really following the developments in France politically are you.

Also the intellectual horsepower required to stay on a course such as astrophysics at St Andrews is going to be higher than a noddy course because the level of intellectual demand is different for a student to stand a chance of surviving.
True enough. When I sat Civil Engineering in '98, we had a 50% drop out after the first year.

Not really Jim, if you watch TV in realtime, no matter what the source, you are required to hold a TV licence.

Of course it's completely impossible to enforce unless you're a very careless idiot; but it wouldn't be right to encourage law breaking, would it?

No, but you finally recognised the significance of the double downgrade.
What significance? The main 'significance' that you identified claimed that costs would rise, when they actually fell substantially,

As a reminder:

So, less money to go around for the services, the NHS, due to lower tax take and higher debt servicing costs etc. etc. - its not going to be a giveaway budget is it?
Unfortunately the financial world is much more complicated than you understand, hence why your googling a headline and coming to a false conclusion are unsurprising. To me at least.

No insult, just an observation as to your lack of understanding!

Well mate she has a seat in the EU just like all the others. Weather YOU like it or not the BBC media is supposed to give a balanced view.
And sadly IT IS NOT. They did not have to show the whole speech but they could have touched on it, but No, not one peep!

The Left of the country should take an unblinkered good look at themselves and ask the question why are people that were in middle ground moving towards the right. If you can't work that out the country will not move forward.

Nigel Farage today described the 3 way split in the Labour party perfectly. There are working class people out there that have been forgotten by Goverments, Consertives are Left wing, Labours leaders are also Left and there is no one out there speaking up for other members, don't even get me started on the bloody liberals rage They have all lost touch with many parts of the country.

It also made me laugh today when the media was showing farage's speech with the sarcasm and gloating. They were saying how unprofessional it was laugh Clearly they have never visited the House of Commons! rolleyes Farage was far more dignified than some of the antics I've seen in the House of Commons!

Not true. Only if you are using it for 'licensable activities' do you need a licence. Mere possession of one is not.

Yes I am, but it doesn't make them right. Why not get Golden Dawn, or ISIS up there too, they were quite pleased with the result.

Hitler was a political hero in Germany in the early 30s, look how that turned out.

As I have said to you before, Le Penn, Golden Dawn, these are the worst factions of right wing hatred in Europe. And these are the people celebrating the referendum result.

Well done, makes you proud to be English. Not.

It's one of the reasons I want to give up our sovereignty and go into the euro.

Britain has a proud history, unfortunately it's being totally destroyed by right wing xenophobic idiots. If this is your version of freedom, where decent, law abiding people, are scared of leaving there homes, you can keep it.

That makes no sense. Are you totally oblivious to the problems in the Eurozone and the reasons behind them?

The law is about "receiving broadcast programming". As a computer or video monitor is fine (but real time BBC iPlayer or similar (or YouTube feeds) is not). However as I say it's pretty much unenforceable, we still presume innocence, and "TV detector vans" are an impossibility, which means they have an army of bored pensioners who come round and have no right of entry. When bored I have been known to enjoy explaining the reality of the situation and asking them to fck off. I'm not proud.
