Which leave campaign promises did you believe?

Do you believe in father Christmas?

You do realise she has to say brexit is brexit now, don't you. Just like when brexiters like Hannan could NOT admit freedom of movement might be needed to secure single market access. If that had been widely admitted before the vote as it has now, there would not have been a majority - some of those voting for Farage's poster may have started to smell the false promise.
Ok mate, have it your way. She's obviously lying - as soon as she is elected leader she's going to call another referendum, everybody will vote remain and we will carry on normal jogging. rolleyes

I think I will just agree with you, it seems to make you happy smile
I tell you want, I don't know what she'll do, you don't know what she'll do.

Lets put it down to one of the brexit style "we can't predict or know / ignore the experts" arguments used to justify whatever outcome you want.

Democracies don't run on the threat of a few factory owners. They do tend to be heavily influenced by mass unemployment though.
True enough but there's a bit to happen in between a few moody and politicised announcements and mass unemployment.

Time will tell, and mass unemployment may happen for a spell, though I doubt it. Either way the die is cast and we are leaving the EU.

Yes we are.

I expect you'll be questioned about believing in Father Christmas before long too smile

Driving through Spain is a real pleasure, mile after mile of almost completely deserted beautiful new roads. At one stage I did wander if I had somehow managed to drive onto one of these roads before it has been official opened to traffic,. New roads cut through hillsides and some dual carriageways. What is the cost per mile for new roads? No doubt this is all EU funded, whilst dear loll Blighty makes do with roads unfit for cart horses.
A lot of the roads I drive on in Spain are toll roads. The locals refuse to pay the tolls so stick to the other roads.
Yup I use mostly toll roads also down Deep South. I see plenty of locals using the tolls, so much so that the dreaded jam at the pay stations builds. Best off with the pre pay card. But still the point I make regarding vast empty roads recently built stand, same in Spain, in fact Spain is even worse for this. Loads of unfinished empty apartments, last count was 110,000 abandoned and have been since 2008. Plenty of abandoned infrastructure too. All on borrowed money.

similar issues in the RoI was well, it seemed quite a few other people believed that they had 'abolished boom and bust' in the mid 2000s ...

The Spanish aren't as bad as the Greeks, though:

Some years ago a small rural town in Spain twinned with a similar town in Greece.
The mayor of the Greek town visited the Spanish town. When he saw the palatial mansion belonging to the Spanish mayor, he wondered aloud how on earth he could afford such a house.

The Spaniard replied: ‘You see that bridge over there? The EU gave us a grant to construct a two-lane bridge, but by building a single lane bridge with traffic lights at either end, I could build this place.’

The following year the Spaniard visited the Greek town. He was simply amazed at the Greek mayor's house: gold taps, marble floors, diamond doorknobs, it was marvellous.

When he asked how he’d raised the money to build this incredible house, the Greek mayor said: ‘You see that bridge over there?’

The Spaniard replied "No.".

Excellent - does that mean that you will now move on ? I'm sure I can't be the only person on here who would welcome something more constructive that kiddies squawking when they don't get their own way.

When I ponder just how much waste and corruption is involved with our contribution to the EU and the foreign aid budget it makes me more than annoyed.

I have moved on - to discuss the outcome of this decision.

As this is he 'angry people' thread, its only fair that this is where some remainers can discuss what a totally shambolic moronic decision has just been made.

Posting pictures of pooh bear and saying lets work together won't make it any less of a moronic decision - in my view - than it was last week. You'll just have to get over the fact that many people won't change their mind that this was stupidity on stilts. All my collegues and nearly all my friends think so. Tough luck if you don't like that. I'll do what I can to reverse it as I consider the lying was far far worse on the leave side and many have voted on a false pretence. Conversely it is not difficult to imagine we are around £4300 worse off. The decision has little legitimacy and whats more the immigration aspects and the dodgy poster and rhetoric stinks and leaves a stain on any leave voter whether they associate with the less salubrious aspects of the campaign or not. If you think thats unfair - tough! You chose some unpleasant fellow travellers.

You can always avoid this thread if reading about the contempt this folly is held in by some upsets you.

PS Euro 1.19/£ now - lowest since the vote. Already counting the cost at work - its hundreds of millions change in our FOREX assumptions going forward. Thats not good.

Ah, you're still here then. Never mind, most of us have got better things to do than read your never-ending squawking because it didn't go your way.

Perhaps we should all just leave you to rant to your heart's content........
